if this is your first time growing, i suggest you go with outdoor, planting in soil. you will need to gain the basic ground rules to more understand the feeding process, watering and most of all the lighting. i did and now am alot confident that i can even build my own hydro system. but keep asking questions you will learn alot more from everyone's opinion.

imo build your own system, its really VERY simple once you have a basic understanding of how it works and the parts needed to make it work. All you really need are some nutes, 5 gallon buckets with lid, aquarium air pump with air stones and a net pot to place in a cut out hole in lid. really a very simple setup, may have left a couple things out but just took a rip :/

I agree with Amrock. I started indoors myself in soil, I've started doing outdoors now too. It's quite overwhelming even in soil for the first time, you've got to work out when your plants need watering. You can get into a set pattern, but each plant has it owns needs and you need to make sure you're working off what the plant wants. My plants have suffered nute burns a few times when I've screwed up too. I've learnt lots of lessons from soil.

If you're set on going hydro, go for it, but it's best to get the basics sorted first.

after going back and reading that this will be your first grow, definitely might be better off with a simple soil grow so you can get a feel for what you're doing. just make sure you get a ph tester to keep that in check.. hydro definitely involves a bit more upkeep to get it all worked out especially with little experience
