Wanna: how much watering is really necessary is tricky, and some times surprising as to how little they really need. I think most of us tend to over water. As I see it you have three options: 1, you can get a moisture meter from most hydro and garden stores for less than $10. 2, you can use Paul James's first knuckle test method; "don't water until you're dry down to the first knuckle of your index finger," or, 3, you can look into the Eco Growing System made in Arizona. That takes all of the guess work out of watering. They have designed a self watering, two compartment container, separated by a horizontal dividing plate and the reservoir is irrigated from the top by a fill tube. The water and nutes perculate up through the soil and encourage root growth down without much chance of over watering if you follow their instructions. Look them up on line and see what they have to offer. I started using them last year around December after one of our instructors at school introduced them to us and I really like them. They come in various sizes and they're great for us lazy growers. I hope that helps. HSAplant s a week out of the soil and have curling leaves ! Over watering ? I cannot upload photo's !!!
