Advice on strain - low space

Like so many, I'm afraid my first post is a question. We all start somewhere I suppose ;).

I've pretty much finished building an indoor CFL grow. Again, like so many, I have very limited space: 2 shelves, approx (W)45cmx(L)55cmx(H)50cm veg/(H)75cm flower (thats about 1'6" x 1'9" x 1'8" / 2'5" imperial) *REAL PLANT SIZE* (that is top of pot<->lights). Actual cabinet size is (W)45cm x (L)55cm x (H)220cm total before taking out space taken by lights and the sheer pot height, and dividing into 2 shelves.

My intended grow is to clone plants just before moving to flowering shelf, then root/veg the clones while the donors flower. (Considering topping for clones, but may play with that after a successful harvest). Apart from sorting light leaks and airflow, just the seeds are left.

Given the lack of space, I assume an indica grow is something of a necessity (I personally prefer the cerebral high of a sativa dominant as opposed to the physical stone of an indica, but needs must. What I'd give for some amnesia haze or similar :bigjoint:). With this in mind, I was hoping for some advice on strains. Something like a vanilla kush (iirc 80% indica) which is clearly very popular on these boards seemed to me to be a possibility.

Thank you for any and all replies in advance. Please do comment on any other part of this setup if you wish - this is in the newby central section for a reason! :dunce:

word if your short on space theres no better than short autos like deiselryder,easyryder,lowryder#2 they are all really good short strains and yeild quite a bit for how short they take

Some nice short autos were actually one of the first things I looked into (starting, as you say, with lowryder and the many crosses). What puts me off, however, is the inability to clone. Continuous seed purchasing isn't something my wallet would enjoy :-(.

With something like Bubblelicious (a suggestion I was just given - stocked by nirvana) as far as I am aware I could happily veg and flower on separate shelves while finishing under 3'. I know they clone fine (though I've heard reports of it being slow).

Biggest concern would be how consistent plant heights might be. Worth mentioning here, that the shelf heights can be switched around a bit (have just over 4' total plant space (height) but I can split that between shelves as I like before I start.

On a completely unrelated note, don't you hate when you need a piece of kit and its not in stock! Not only that, but walking back from town I must have walked past at least 5 sets of people blazing by the river. Be nice when its actually produced by my fair hand.

Use LST to get an even canopy. I flower under T5's so that's what I do. Here's a pic. These plants are 54 days from seed, 18 days flowering.

Oh now they are puuurdy! LST and supercropping both look to be pretty good solutions.

I think between all the suggestions, we may have a solution! By using LST/supercropping the timing of flowering and veging should be good too for switching them around.

Righty, thinks it's time I placed an order ;).

EDIT: For Bubblelicious I mean. It's going to take a couple of months to flower, so even with LST I'll stick to a nice small plant size.
