Advice on perpetual grow set-ups.

Hey everyone! :-)

I think I'm going to try and get myself set up so I'm growing perpetually. I can comfortably have 5 big girls in my tent at a time, in 20 litre pots (7 if I use 10 litre pots). At the moment I veg my plants and then pop them into flower when I feel they're ready, and then flower to completion. In the past I've waited till they were ready, and my tent was free, to then start vegging the new plants in there (before then flowering them). This grow I had a couple of extra Sugar Punch that I didn't have room to flower, so set up some CFL's in a wardrobe as a separate veg room. With this in place, I have the ability to move to perpetual.

So, on to the reason for this thread. I only have 3 plants in my grow room right now (had to throw out 3 kosher kush that were hermies) - the Sugar Punch that are in the flowering tent are 5 weeks in to 12/12. So, with an average flower time of about 10 weeks for this strain, now would be a perfect time to throw one of the vegging Sugar Punch girls in to the flower tent. My problem is, one of the flowering girls is 4ft 6in and the light is set to it's maximum height - so how can I add a new girl to start flowering without suffering extreme stretch due to the light being over 3ft away?

How do people manage in perpetual grows when a plant stretches to extreme heights? Is it best to get multiple light sources - maybe hang a CFL down there so it's right above the plant that's just been put into flower. I could certainly sort this out. Interested to hear peoples thoughts and suggestions though. :leaf:

After my current grow I am switching to a perpetual 12/12 lighting grow.I plan to harvest 6 plants every ...WOWW!!!!SI Swimsuit 2013 is on tv, very distracted:lol:......so yeah 6 plants every 1-2? months.I will use 3 cfl fixtures at different heights and germinate 10 seeds every month and work out the kinks as I go....when growing 12/12fs,they'll be ready in about 90 days

Yeah, I'm certainly feeling the multiple lights at different levels. With the big HID up top. Not considered the whole perpetual thing with one tent and 12/12 from seed all the time. Interesting. :-)

I manage mine by using plastic milk crates under my plants to bring them higher to the light or sawhorses and a piece of wood. no need to lower the light, raise the shorter plants.

Do you find they're stable enough? I would need to raise mine at least 24 inches, and the pots weigh well in excess of 30lb when wet. I worry that raising them could create a topple risk.
