Hello everyone :bigjoint: I've recently decided to start my own indoor grow after coming across 2 4x8 tables on Craigslist for free. I want to do sog but want to know what do some of ya'll recommend as far as how many plants can be fit in these two tables, how many lights to use and wattage? Huge thanks in advance for any advice

The lights are the easy part. 4x8s are large tables, if you want to do ebb/flow, you are going to need some large expensive reservoirs. You will also need climate control nailed down. Lighting would typically be minimum of 4 600w HPS (2400w). It is advisable to stay within the "minimal felony" plant count limits based on what your state laws are and whether it is permissible under med statutes.

EDIT: 4x8s...to be used properly....would require a cloning operation. That alone is quite a setup to feed those tables with a constant supply of plants. Those tables were free for a reason...

I have a few 55 gallon drums laying around the farm. Think 1 or 2 can be enough as a reservoir?.. I'm in central ca so I'm not too worried about finding a good supply of clones

IMO, a 55 gallon drum would not make a good reservoir for ebb/flow on a 4x8 table due to inadequate capacity and the wrong form factor.

If I were going to do two 4x8 tables, I'd use a standard 115 gallon reservoir per table and about 120 6x6x5 cultilene rockwool blocks per table. Lighting would be 4 Gavita digistar, hydrofarm DE wing, plantmax DE bulb. The digistar goes from 600-1150w, very flexible. Climate control is most important, a mitsubishi mini-split of appropriate size and possibly a serious dehumidifier for lights off time. The space would need either periodic fresh air input or CO2 supplementation.

If he split the tables in half he can get away with 2 55 gallon drums but yeah you want like 100+ gallon reservoir for a 4x8 ebb and flow table but depending on the table could be easy to split in half.

For lighting 2 600 watts will do great but 2 1,000 watt lights will yield better for each 4x8 table.

Pro-mix in pots also a good way to grow much easier to start up buds just as nice more forgiving than hydro as well you can lose a whole crop with hydro but you do your homework you should be just fine don't get no cheap ass pump thats for sure and don't let the reservoir get too hot it will rot your roots and kill your plants. Get it down solid though your good not too hard just easier to fuck up.
