advice on dying plants in flowering

We've had our three plants for about three months now. They're under a 400 watt artificial sun. We use earthgro soil and mrs bonnie nutrients. The plants were looking great up until we put them in flowering mode a week ago, when they hit flowering mode they began to droop but the leaves were still bright green. We flushed them out and made sure they were draining properly. Everything seemed okay but now they look cmpletely dead. Any advice on what's going? Their ph levels are ok. Can't figure out the damn problem. If it helps I can post a few before and after pictures. Do the plants still have a chance?

pics always help as would more info like temps & humidity etc
Ok I will post pics when I'm home. Temperature in the room is 88 when the lights on about 70 when its off. The room isn't humid. I had a :problem with some mold about a month ago but got rid of it in a day. Their in 1.6 gallon pots and are about two to three feet plants, extremely wide though. The plants are watered a third of a gallon of purified water anytime I can stick my finger in the pot and my second knockle isn't wet. The last time they had nutrients was right before flowering but when they began to droop I flushed them and they've just ben receiving water

They grew out of their pots a month ago and were tranferred to the 1.6 gallon pots. They have a lot of root space

Rule of thumb is that the roots are as long as the plant is tall

IMO 1.6 gallon pots are not enough for 2 to 3 foot tall plants

I'm bettin they are root bound?

Their roots are good.like I said they are unlike any plants I've seen they grow out wide more than long. Ill post pics as soon as I can. Should I do something to help them grow longer?

WHOA WTF looks like extreme heat stress and no water you need bigger pots period you got them half full with soil... the roots are prob all messed up and not getting any water if there not dead all ready id say transplant them to some 3 gallon pots asap

O.K.... First things first...the small size of the containers (1.6 gallon) was a definite factor in the stunted growth.

Another major factor is your temps...88 degrees farenheit is too hot, sorry!

Plants exchange water vapor and gases thru pores called Stomates or Stomata. When it gets too hot these pores close up and the plant starts the slow march towards death.

Here is what happens when it gets too hot:

Temperatures
Plants have optimum growing conditions across the range of temperatures from 70°F to 85°F. Hot temperatures can injure and kill living plant systems. The thermal death threshold varies depending upon the duration of hot temperatures, the absolute highest temperature reached, tissue age, thermal mass, water content of tissue, and ability of the plant to make adjustments to temperature changes.

Internal changes within the plant as heat loading effects increase:
  1. Decrease in photosynthesis (Ps) and increase in respiration (Rs).
  2. Closing down of Ps (turn-over point for Ps and Rs = 95°F).
  3. Closed stomates stop CO2 capture and food production.
  4. Major slowing of transpiration (loss of heat dissipation, increase of internal temperature, and transportation / absorption problems).
  5. Increasing cell membrane leakage.
  6. Continued physical water loss and dehydration.
  7. Cell division and expansion inhibited, and growth regulation disrupted.
  8. Tree starvation through rapid use of food reserves, inefficient food use, increased photo-respiration, and inability to call on reserves when and where needed.
  9. Toxins generated (cell membrane releases and respiration problems) and deficiencies of elements and metabolites occur.
  10. Membrane integrity loss and protein breakdown.
  11. Local cell death, tissue lesions, and tissue death.
So basically:
-Larger pots are critical not only for proper growth but also cooling.

-Best temps for flower are not higher than 77 degrees if you can (75 ideal) a bit higher for properly CO2 enriched rooms.

-Proper amount of FRESH air from outside. Normal CO2 levels in outdoor air is approx 387 ppm average.

Good luck!

They were thriving up until we put the light on 12/12. Then a weird Shit smell was coming from the room. I unclogged the drainage holes and flushed with pure water. I Don know what to do, I have Afghanistan goo seeds but I don't wanna fucking start from scratch.

So the plants are dead, I'm gonna make what little hash I can from them. I want to start over but I wanna zdo of right, how should I setup the room and stuff. Ill repost with Pics of what I have now and get some critiques, I have almost no clue what I'm doing

...IF you don't learn from them. Then they become lessons. That's what this whole site is about, we are ALL students here, nobody knows it all. :)

Keep us posted with pics and info and folks here will have you up and running in no time! ;)

You kinda' sound like your being hard on yourself... First of all, Im confident your next grow will go better. I say that because you've already done the best thing you could do, and that's come to this site, looking for help.

If I can offer some advice, I suggest you go here... https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/1443-free-grow-videos.html
There are ALOT of good videos in there! They can be VERY informative.

After you find you some instructional help, simply use the search bar at the top of the page to search for similar posts with your questions/problems. If none are found, start a new thread asking questions.

Do a little homework, man. It'll come to ya'.

BTW, If you need help making that hash, there's a senior member here named motoracer110 that has posted a tutorial for a very simple and cost-efficient method, here... https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/191962-making-hash-tutorial.html

Hope I helped, man.

So I wont lie, the room they were in wasn't the cleanest of enviorments, but they looked amazing till I switched from 18/6 to 12/12. Well I will post pics when I clean the room and ill post pics of what I used for the previous plants, to see if you can tell me if I did something wrong there, I appreciateall this help, and I only sound down on myself because this was after over 3 hard months of working on them. I have bubble bags for the hash but thanka, ill watch the visa.

Also some tips on germinating, what should I do it in? With the previous plants I used paper towels and a bowl in the cup oard. Ill post pics of the soil and stuff, I washed out the old pots and clear ed he room. Just wanna do it right this time.
