Sweet. Thanks for replying. Ive never had a problem with tacoing. One of the few problems i havent seen or had yet lol. Man i want tacos now bad.
Advice on a Mag deficiency using tap water.

Yeah thats the big plant with the taco leaves which is in a different room to the others, ill sort that today but it's nothing to do with the purple stems as the other room is exact same and it is well controlled and ventilated

Purple stems is a deficiency, I just cant remember what element it is right now as I just tested a new strain and damn, I'm stoned. I have a couple of strains that will get them no matter what but yield is not affected.

In the 15 years or so I've been growing pot, I've never been able to conclusively pinpoint what causes purple/red stems. Definitely a deficiency though as the stems become a healthy yellowish green whenever I fix the nutrients. Strong healthy stems are a yellowish color, and you will see it in your leaf stems (petioles) and leaf veins too. Healthy leaves have yellow veins if you look at the back of the leaf.
It could be as simple as a P deficiency. Cold also causes the red stems and I've heard the theory was that cold blocks the uptake of P. It is winter so maybe the water is cold.

Personally , I think purple stems can be a sign of stress if it's not a trait of the strain. I have noticed them disappear once my plants have gone into hydro and recovered.

I think you're right. I had perfectly fine stems a week and I transplanted and they started to turn purple hopefully they recover that's the only sign of stress they showed

Cheers ill keep a close eye on them but not too sure which ratio of the 3pt GH now tho, i've been feeding with equal amounts of each (veg).

Purple stems are a phosphorous deficiency. The plant is not producing enough chlorophyl to retain a green color. A phosphorous deficiency will cause a problem in the uptake of other nutrients and will compromise flower development in the long run. Your plants should have green stems if they are healthy. That is not a strain known to produce a purple color. When looking at a nutrient label there are three numbers 0-10-11. The middle number is phosphorous. You need more phosphorus in your mix. Canna makes PK 13/14. It should do the trick after a few doses.

Foliar feeding increases growth rates and provides a boost of nutrients directly to growth, some helping the plant to absorb more light which helps it grow more. It also washes off any unwanted dust or build up on leaves so encourages healthier plants.
why do you think nurseries foliar spray plants, it also encourages humidity in veg phase which is good for growth.

I believe purple stems are a result of magnesium deficiency in plant, or phosphorous (brittle leaves) but also genetics can contribute to this, colder climates, high temperatures variations between hot lights on and very cold nights and more predominant in seedlings or recently translplanted.

I have a bottle of Floranova bloom (4-8-7) do you think i should i use it instead of the 3pt GH?

I think floranova is meant to be stand-alone, but I'm not sure on that. Either way, even if it's standalone it shouldn't hurt to use.
I meant gh flora though. Flora is the name of the 3 part while floranova is their 1 part mixes.

Nute change and a foliar feed every nigt when lights go out seem to be curing purple stems and canoeing was def down to heat stress as i had moved the plant from another room. Anyway here's a pic update on main room, just set the scrog on tonight
