Advice Needed - Plant is sending me mixed signals!

I've got a bit of a dilema in that I travel in a week and would like to get this single plant into jars before I go away. If I don;t harvest over the next few days, I will have to let this plant go two more weeks when I get back.

This isn't a matter a patience or needing herb to smoke, my concern is going to long.

So the question is, harvest now or in two weeks.

Strain is GHS Chemdog and we are at 9.5 weeks from pistils, so about 10 weeks from flip. GHS claims this is a 9-10 weeks strain.

The challenge I'm having is the plant's giving me mixed signals. The buds are dense and frosty and haven't put much weight on for a few weeks. Leaves are starting to die back, and overall the plant looks done. The one thing that mind fukin me right now is some cola's are still throwing new pistils.

When I put a scope to her I see amber and clear, not a lot of cloudy, although the difference between clear and cloudy isn't very "clear" to me.

With all that said, here is a pic from a little over a week ago of the buds and a shot of the trichs. Any help is appreciated.photo (6).jpgtrichs2.jpg

Here is one from today:

I agree they look like they could use a little longer and two weeks lines up great with my travel but the trichs are messing with me, tons of amber in the trich shot from today, but also lots of clear.

Other plants I've flowered have been easier to read.

my last grow was acting the same way for about a week or so before harvest,so i let it go longer,1.5 week later it started showing a couple naners,so i chopped it then as soon as i seen them, buds looked about like yours at chop, dont know if that will help, but its better to be safe then sorry if your gona be gone awhile, and they still need to dry for a week or so,maybe longer, before you jar them,if was me id chop, lol

Have you considered taking a partial harvest now, and getting the rest in 2 weeks?

Cut the ripest now, let the rest of the buds get fatter & prettier while you are indisposed.

Win/Win

Yes pistils don't necessarily matter most strains though will be about 60-90% turned. Really unless you know your strain well I'd say trichomes are a better indicator of ripeness and yours are looking pretty amber I know I'm ussualy looking for a little less then 20% tops. Also the differance between clear and cloudy trichs is pretty subtle best way IV found to see them is to look from the side with a dark color behind is and you will e able to tell completly translucent from cloudy

She still has at least a week. Also it takes a week to dry and a week of burping jars to where you can leave them sealed for a long period of time without getting mold. She looks healthy enough to go a few more weeks anyway. I would let them ride until I got back depending on how long the trip.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm going to chop right before I leave on the trip so the plant is drying while I'm gone. That will be 10 weeks from pistils, 11 weeks from the flip so should be plenty of time on a 9 eek strain.
