Advice for slow growth

I've seen a lot of people on here recommend starting out as low as 1/4 of the suggested dosage. Probably get more useful answers if you provide a specific line of nutrients you intend to use. If you're going to be using synthetics, you're gonna want to make friends with the idea of watering to runoff.

Okay cool. I actually have some of the TPS nutrients stuff (the all-in-one and flower signal stuff) on hand that I can start using. And yeah, I won't be worried about runoff if I'm adding nutrients.

Should I flush the soil before I start adding nutrients or just go ahead and start adding them in?

Edit: they've got a procedure for adding it mid-cycle

Some mixed feelings on here about "flushing". Unless you're at your wits' end chasing some major issue, I think flushing is pointless. If the soil started with a light charge and you haven't added any of your own in a month, I don't see that there's really much of anything that would need flushed out.

Water carries nutrients to the roots- you need more water to get the plant more food for more growth. Also some myco will help.

I’d dim the light to 50% and increase the temps to 80-83F and add a humidifier to get readings to at least 60-65% on humidity.
It’s looking like she’s leaning into deficiencies usually caused by too much light & too little available feed. Looks like magnesium or a K deficiency is starting to roll on in.

Hey thanks for the additional feedback. I've upped the temp to 80 and I'm still trying to dial the RH in 60 (I've only got a dinky little pharmacy humidifier, so I have to turn the fan and exhaust down a bit to get it just right)

I put myco in when I first transplanted the seedling into the current pot. Would adding more now be worthwhile?

what strain are you running?

I picked up some of the TPS canopy spray for the Mg and their all-in-one adds 4% K. My long term goal is to run this as a scrog, should I keep the light dimmed to 50% at 18" throughout the entire veg?

Hello my friend ;)
1st off, your plant looks healthy which is very nice :D
What I would change is at that size it doesn't need a lot of water so 4/5 day's should be fine because your LED won't produce much heat which would dry your soil. Always water to runoff so your roots never have to search for water.
Also bring your light down to 14". it will not hurt your plant.
If your a serious grower and plan on doing it for awhile go buy a TDS/PPM/EC meter which really is important to know exactly the amount of nutes you are using. The instructions on the bottle are approximations and really aren't accurate enough to be sure your giving it the right amount.
Seeing as your using soil with nutes, I would use around 500 ppm for a start and then if you have no issues like burning. which you won't, bump it up to around 700/800 when you get to bloom.
Pot plants are fine from high 70's up to 90 degrees max with a fan. 80 is perfect for max growth.
Maintain Ph from 6.8-7.2 with 7.0 being foolproof
Humidity from 60% to 70% is fine and always use a fan to give the plant a breeze.
Indica's are a squat plant which should work ok in your tent, but your cutting it very close.
I would recommend 4' minimum and 3 gallon pots are perfect for a 8 week-10 week plant. Use that next time.
Good luck & I wish you lb's & lb's of crystal bud that look like sno-cones.
Have fun :weed:

Hey thanks for your advice! I actually got my TDS/conductivity meter in the mail this afternoon

That instrument is probably the most important component in a successful grow.
Fuck guesstimates, you need to be precise in what you are using.
Secret not many use.
Take a 5 gallon pail and add your nutes, starting low and building UP!!!!
Way easier to raise ppm than to lower and also this is where you adjust ph, also slowly.
Remember this
Ph down is very strong and a little goes a long way so be careful going down.
Up is more tolerant.
So, use the 5 gallons until you run out, then repeat.
Should last a few weeks
Bye :bigjoint:

30 days of growing they are surely stunted. Why has many reasons. Newbies need success and should go straight to Ocean Forest with 4 to 1 added perlite for perfect plants in 30 days (heavy spoon of lime as well). NO MORE NUTS cause the soil has everything needed. Add nuts and crap you kill em. Not familiar with your soil mix and surely put you in a bad plance. A 30 day old plant above ground should be almost a foot tall and bushy ready to flower topped several times. somebody telling you this is fine and great looking at 30 days tells you they don;'t know shit about growing.

Hey I'm worried that my plant is suffering from stunted growth. Right off the bat, I'm pretty sure it's because I'm using 100% Purplecow Indicanja as the medium with no unamended soil. It's just about at the 30 day mark and she's 3" tall, has a thin stem, almost no petiole growth, and seems pretty weakly rooted. I don't think it's a nutrient or watering issue, as I haven't added anything and have been using spring water pH'ed to 6.5 very sparingly.

Otherwise, it's in a 2 gal pot, under a Visparspectra 150W LED, 77°F, 50% RH

So far I've come up with three possible solutions, and want to know what you guys think:
  1. Just, be patient and hope its growth picks up
  2. Dig out some of the top soil, chop the first node's leaves off, and refill with regular soil to get some new roots going
  3. Move into new container with less super soil/completely new medium (which has me worried about transplant shock)
Any input would be awesome
I'm with 1. Be patient!
