Advice for plant near harvest

So this plant has been flowering for about 40 days. I topped dressed it a couple weeks ago and had planned to ride it out until harvest, but the plant seems to be fading to early. The two pictures are a week apart.

Does this all seem normal or is there a problem? I don't know what I'm doing.

I'm using using dry, slow release fertilizer in coco. Its possible there was a PH problem. I had ph'd a bucket of water and it took a week to use it all. I don't know what it was at the end of the week.

I accidentally had a branch tucked under another plant and when I pulled it up it was a good green looking color. So it appears only the leaves getting light are fading?

While we are here. About how much longer until harvest?

Looks fine to me, keep going though lots of growth yet to come. Those buds should start to fatten up now and still so many white hairs. Imo

Alright, full steam ahead!
It was about this time during my first grow that I thought something was wrong and started to throw a few too many "fixes" at the plant. Still learning!

Your mileage may vary depending on strain or pheno, but this general guide may be useful for you.

At least 3 weeks away from chop.

Are you growing under LED's? After stretch is done and they start to bulk them hairy buds in earnest, typically around end of Week 4/start of Week 5, the leaves at the top tend to yellow. LED's increase the plants appetite for 2nd level nutes like Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur and Iron. Although the levels that they need are lower than the base N/P/K, they still need 'em. Iron is usually in your bloom ferts. The others, not so much.

Do you use any Ca/Mg/S supplements?

What lights are you using?

Plants fade more the more light they get, the shades part wasnt getting as much light and wasnt using as much stored nutrient to grow.

Same reason lower buds dont finish up as fast as the tops.

You also arnt to the point I'd call it nearing the end, you've def got time left as others are saying, so put harvest out of your mind for a while

I'm growing under cob LED's. I did use calmag while watering for a couple weeks in VEG until I top dressed all my plants with dolomite lime. Besides that its been nothing but water.
I think I want to give it a couple days before I do anything to see if it was a PH problem. I do have some fox farm big bloom I could mix in with the next watering.

Well the plant seems to slowly be getting worse. I decided to flush the plant with water and top dress with another tablespoon of 12-24-12. I could have added in some 16-12-12 or used the fox farm trio but I decided to stick with the bloom nutrients.

.
I am probably mistaken but isn't dolomite lime more for pH buffering as opposed to a calcium source? And if I am mistaken, I am confident that the RIU community will quickly correct me.

:blsmoke:

Some Cal/Mag would be beneficial. I have temporarily ditched the Botanicare Cal/Mag and am testing a less costly concoction:
  • Epsom Salt mixed @ 1 tsp / Imperial Gallon (provides Mg and S.)
  • 12 egg shells soaked in 1 cup 5% vinegar for 48 hours - then 1 tsp of that mix in 1 Imp gallon. (Provides Ca)
I am seeing far less yellowing of the fans as I approach Week 7. And the sugar leaves look a little chubbier.

Dolomitic lime is calcium magnesium carbonate.
I'm also not sure what the connection is with my problem (a nitrogen deficiency) and Cal/Mag. Unless this is a symptom of Cal/Mag?
I don't see any reason to try to adjust the cal/mag but I guess I don't know.
