Around last year or so, I decided to jump right into growing without any previous knowledge or help from anyone, after getting my seed to root, I potted it and to my surprise, I saw a sprout. Once the shell of the seed fell off, and the stem became some what sturdy i'd put my plant out during the day and bring it inside, eventually I had a good 15" plant. After making the mistake of sharing the news with my downstairs roommate , i'd notice my plant flooded in water, brought out during night to be covered in frost in the morning. Sadly after the mistreatment of my roommate towards my little plant, it died. Now having been given 3 healthy looking seeds, I want to seriously grow them to harvest.
Currrently my little seeds are in a water bottle cap of water within a box underneath my desk lamp for warmth. After deciding to grow, I decided to look on the interwebs, about growing indoors the right way, various things you'd need and what not. I currently know somebody with knowledge on bulding grow boxes but for a good 200 dollars, I figured i'd need to be sure. After looking around it seems grow boxes arnt 100 percent mandatory, with the two situations im currently debating i thought i'd turn to the members of this site for some useful insight. My first option, being my somewhat small closet as a grow room. I'd cover it in reflective material, ( not foil as to avoid burning my plant ) i'd use my trusty desk lamp with a blue CT light for the vegetive state, then switching to a red/ warm light for the flowering stage. Possibly a few tapped to the wall battery powered dollar store hand fans. ( though im not sure i need a fan, being that i could open the door for circulation ) If i went this route would i have sucsess? How smelly does the plant actually get? My second option being follow the route i went with my first plant, root it, then pot it, sadly with it being winter here in canada, i'd keep it indoors, using the right ct lights for it's stage in development. Basically treating it like any other of my house plants. And once it's reached it's flowering stage i could stick it in mycloset so no light will get at it for the right amount of hours .Or of course just pay for the grow box. Im hoping to get a nice harvest when the time comes, soo your feed back would be much appreciated. Growing seriously for the "first" time seems hecktic!
