Well, I've been back in North Dakota drillin'... you know how that goes- I come and go, cuz this frozen tundra of hell can only be taken incrementally, in small doses, if one seeks to sustain sanity
so I got off the rig last Tues and had been thinking about heading to Colorado for a few days.
We had completed well #4 on a 6-well pad in Killdeer by 6pm Tues...and our crew made it back to the yard in Williston by 9pm. Upon arrival I took a shower, ran to Buffalo Wild Wings, ordered some chicken & used the wifi to scribble down directions for the 10+ hour, 680 mile trip to Colorado. With the help of 4 frappucinos,I made it to Sundance, WY by the time my eyes lost depth perception and I decided I needed some sleep
Anticipating a short stay, I slept in my car outside a Days Inn and continued on my way, making it to Cheyenne WY before stopping by a hotel to look up the closest weed shop over the border
It was Karing Kind in Boulder. An 8th of Amber Waves and an 8th of Green Crack Cavier and I'm off to Idaho Springs
I think I'm going to be spending more days off enjoying the hot springs of Colorado, WY, MT, OR, etc.
After another 2 weeks on the rig including some -25 temps (wind chill makes that -40 easily)...hot springs are all I can think about. And the ladies they attract...OWWWWWWWWW
