I am only considering it, because I don't want to invest in a heater for basement grow room. When the lights go out The temp gets down to almost 50 for the last hour and half or so of night. I go dark at around 12:00 noon, so that the temp is at it's warmest. I will not have to worrie about this for long, as it will be getting much warmer around here. But for now, I would like to maybe run 24hrs on. Does anyone think it will hurt the plants, or maybe even help them grow faster?

I say switch it to 18/6 to give it a more realisitc cycle. This way the plant has time to rest and generate the sugars it needs when the light goes out. Keeping it on 24/7 is only a waste of energy and will not make it grow significantly faster.

Right now I have a 400watt MH set up. I have another 400watt Hps with a MH conversion bulb on hand, which I will be adding for flowering along with 6 36" floros to run along the side of my grow space. I just added a carbon filter and another air intake. I have a few fans set up to keep the heat down, and build up the stems.

There has been a lot of experimentation on this issue on another site that's frequented by expert growers. Based upon their consensus, I tried 20/4 for vegging on the grow I just harvested. Tightest nodes I've grown yet ... with the resultant fat, chunky colas too. :)

I like those results. What equiptment you running?? I may just stick with old 20/4 and take a chance. I added some more insulation, so the only ouside air getting into the room is from my intake fans.. The temp stays above 58 now. About 5 degrees warmer then it was.. I can live with that.

If only swim would post pics....It could potentially change many doubters on 24hr lighting. I am currently running 400w hps and 400w mh 24hrs with great results although she is only 4 days old today since seeing light.
