It is a better product having the cree diodes. I'm sure it will do a fine job growing and produce decent smoke.

If you decide to get another or upgrade check out cob led. Several companies offer prewired diy kits like the timber listed a couple posts up.

It is a fairly new product I've had it for about a year and before that there was a waiting list for wen this lamp released.

I just read the description. Only 8 of the diodes are cree. The other 100 are bridglux or no name. That is what pisses me off about companies like this. They throw a few cree parts in there and call it a cree light.

It will still grow.

I guess on the plus side for the light I am a fan of mixed spectrum. Its why I use t5. I mix spectrum and add UV.

I wish I had picture of the first grow i used this lamp on , I started it out under T5s and flowerd it with the Xml2.

It was aurora indica.

I know allot of poeple hate Plat cuz their burple, stole Advanced name, use Epi diodes, & are just E-Shines. But the fact of the matter is ive seen many grows where they blow away a Mars.
They have a good warranty & stand by their product. Mark (owner) is a car salesman basically but still stands by his shit.
With that said, they are one of the better burples using Epistars.
For about $2 a watt you can get a much much better light though that also has a 5 yr warranty.
Amare Tech will provide you with better everything then Plat. Better components, efficiency, a true full spectrum, better coverage, Higher output of a better spectrum & will yield you quite a bit more frosty nug. So for a few cents more a watt you could own a real fixture that won't let you down.

Those Cree diodes are bottom bin & are basically only used for plant viewing. They run off like 2w each. Garbage trick.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that just because it grows, people claim it was worth the money.

Mars, platinum, blackdog etc. etc. don't renew their tech.
Any recent Philips or Osram led light bulb that can put out 100 lm/w before diffuser pop off, beats those lights.
For way less money.

Also a scummy thing to do from Platinum is that their "par" test tests literally just the centre of their lights.
As their growlights have lenses it's going to have a very high peak in the middle, as opposed to a much more distributed light pattern from the HPS.

These crafty fuckers are always evolving to find new ways to pray on the new and vulnerable.

First they where caught out for not giving PPFD and PPF measurements , now they just give there center measurements at 6 inches :clap:

LED makers are like the boy that cried wolf, nobody believes shit anymore from them. They took those center readings at 6 inches.

Not sure if this post is still going but I am new to the site and to growing. On my third cycle and started may of last year. I have to admit being new to everything and definitely not doing enough research I bought two p300s from platinum and I have to say it definitely isn't the best and not the worst but starting somewhere is better than nothing at all. I was the amazon light guy and even bought two shitty alibaba lights that took a shit after a month. Now doing a bit more research I purchased a 200w citizen cob kit from timber and I want to see how they compare.

And Blackdog Led is posting shit like "the efficiency" myth and other sketchy shit.

They also proudly post some 7 ounce grow from their 215 watt light, which is 0.9g/w. But cheap LED bulbs can achieve the same yield. (more actually).

Most LED makers are overpricing their shit, and many of those panel makers can't even compete with generic philips bulbs.

The problem I see is there are a lot of us noobs out there that will go and try and find info and there is so much out there that it is hard to believe anyone. But just to reassure anyone who is thinking of buying one. My last grow with 99% organic nutes not from a bottle and 1x P300 and 2x HSO Lost Coast Hash Plant
In 5 gal diy grow pots and I got QP dry. Not bad for being a beginner and a so call crappie light. My current and third grow I think I might get 3-4oz per plant. 2x Sweet Seeds Snow Fruit. I truely believe alot of the growing is the grower and then lights, not the lights then grower.

First pic is current 2x Sweet Seeds Snow Fruit(13 days into flower)

Second pic is last grow 2x HSO Lost Coast Hash Plant (right before harvest)
