Advanced Nutrients and Pro Mix HP

So I am growing indoors for the first time. I have 4 plants that have been grown from seed and being fed AN Micro, Grow, Bloom, B52 in Pro mix HP. They are roughly 5 weeks into veg, been topped and LST training. They are being watered every 3 days. I transplanted in 5 gallon fabric pots last Saturday and are prepping them for flowering. They are getting 4ml/l of micro grow Bloom and 2ml/l of b52. I have been doing a feed water feed from the beginning of the year but have noticed they really get light/lime green when only given water. I have never used pro mix hp and am wondering if I should be feeding with every watering using this medium? Thanks

1st pic is on Jan 30 3 days after a just watering
2nd pic is today 3 days after feeding

Plants look like they need more Nitrogen. I feed small ever increasing amounts with every watering from seedling-late flowering.

IMHO switching to bloom nutrients ect, is a way for companies to separate you, from your money, and supports the myth to cut Nitrogen during flowering. All they need is a good basic formula from seedling-late flowering. Just need to give small ever increasing amounts of everything up until 2 weeks before chop. Weed needs just as much Nitrogen during flowering as it does Phosphorus, except during weeks 3-5 it may be beneficial to boost them with added Phosphorus, and Potassium.

Its a myth to cut Nitrogen during flowering.
Weed plant will grow the most, and produce more hormones after flip than any time in its life. All Nitrogen is to a plant is Protein. Humans eat protein, and turn it into nitrogen.
Protein also means of First Importance. So Nitrogen, for weed is the most important nutrient. Same for humans. Not all plants require as much nitrogen, but for weed it is mandatory. Weed also is a heavy user of Magnesium, and the #1 deficiency for container grown plants is Magnesium.
My fertilizer is basically a 1-1-2 ratio. Albeit chemicals, but the ratio for organic is the same. For chemicals I use 4-20-39 + Calcium Nitrate-15.5-0-0, and Epsom salts.
For Organic I use Peruvian Seabird Guano. Both flowering, and Veg formulas. Azomite, Kelp. Calcitic, and Dolomitic Lime. I make teas with the guanos, and Kelp, and add kelp, Calcitic/Dolomitic lime Azomite to the medium.
I use Promix BX.

I myself would make my own Kelp tea. Id buy some good kelp, and soak it for 3 days, along with either stirring it several times a day, or use bubble stones. Or both.

Promix doesn't have fertilizer in it that I'm aware of. Everyone I know feed every time they water that stuff. Especially considering the slow dryback.

Promix BX-HP has ZERO fertilizer in it, but it does contain Calcitic, Dolomitic Lime, and Mycorrhiza. I water/feed about every 3.5 days I feed at about 20%-30% of maximum recommended dose of fertilizer. I mainly grow in 20 gallon containers, and either 1000w SE Hortilux HID, and 1150w Gavita DE HID.

HP is High Porus, and dries out faster. I use the BX because it holds water better. At maximum water usage, in a 20 gallon container, i use 4 gallons of water every 3.5 days if the plant is doing what its supposed to. This is also strain dependent. Not all strains can use that much water. Ive got 10+ years old cuts of Mr Nice Super Silver haze, Barneys Farm G13 x Haze, and a 20 years old cut of Serous Seeds AK47, and a 2005 cut of Reeferman Willie Nelson that can use this much water. Ive got 2 cuts of Dominion Seed Company Local Skunk, that will only use 2.5 gallons in 3.5 days.
The other strains can produce up to 22oz per plant, AK47 is goof for up to 14oz, and the Local will only produce 8oz by comparison. Outside if you have the growing season to do it, the Willie Nelson will produce 5lbs a plant easy, but isnt done until mid-late November. It gets huge, and inside has an 80 day stretch after flowering, and is done in 100 days. Ive done an LB out of a 5 gallon container with Willie Nelson. Best Ive ever done out of 5 gallons, in 43 years of growing under HID. I also veg 24/7 under 1000w HID from seedling through flowering.

Feed every time at this point in growth and make sure you are feeding to runoff
They look underwatered
Should I be feeding 4ml/l every feeding or should i be splitting that in half. 2ml/l X 2 feedings a week= 4ml/l weekly
I feel like they would do better with 4ml/l every watering but do not want to over nutrient them.

Don’t worry about over till you get under fed fixed
Feed them as needed there is no schedule for every grow
But when they are eating well they will need watered more frequently

ph is low, tends to happen im not sure why. i use pro-mix bx with an nutrients. i spoke to promix support one time they suggested i add a liming agent. i settled on simple powdered dolomite lime sprinkled some around the plant and water it in should fix the problem. if you have ph meter for soil you can see how much it drifts after watering. you need the ph of promix to be around 6.0-6.1.

I forget to mention in the post, I amended some powdered dolomite lime and myco-jordan(mycorrhizal innoculant) into the soil when I transplanted to 5 gallon pots last Saturday. I will check the next feeding, the run off with my ph pen, for a reading on the soil. I was having some issues early on in the one gallon pots with low ph soil. 5.5ph, slowing brought it up but it went to 6.5, the last feedings have been at 6.2ph as per that is what AD Ph perfect makes the ph

ah i see you will have a better picture of whats going on if you check the actual ph of medium a few hours after watering then check the following day as well to see whats going on that will give you a clearer picture of whats going on with the ph. i dont think checking the run off will give you a full picture. do you have a longer probe to check the ph?

Do you have a ppm meter ?

Every time I've gone over 1250 with AN it leads to burn. Keep in mind, my well water is ~500 so roughly 750 of nuits.

With AN I feed with every water to run off. And usually feed @ 1/2 what they recommend !

There was an interesting discussion recently on another forum where a member was talking to a ProMix rep and he emphatically stated there is no need to ph your water with ProMix HP.

Sounds too good to be true but I'm going to try it, he, he...

One week in and no issues but it's early days.

Cheers

Yes I do, my tap water is 20 ppm. When I add the 4ml/l of AN micro grow bloom it gives me a ppm of 750 to 775 and ph of 6.2. The last few feedings I have not adjusted the ph and just let it ride at the 6.2 AN automatically adjusts. I have brought up the ppm to 800-900, as I read that late veg plants thrive with a slightly higher ppm nutrient solution. In the same article they go on to say you want to continue to bring up that ppm (1300-1500) through beginning to mid flower. Which makes sense cause the plant goes into overdrive when going into flower. Will definitely keep a close eye on the ladies to see how they are reacting under their growing conditions and makes changes as needed.

I do but it is a cheap house plant style one that gives you both moisture content and ph. Not digital. It is hard to get an accurate reading but looks like it is in the 6 range.

the only way i had luck with pro mix and advanced nutes was to feed 1/3 strength every time ph to 5.8 ish and no plain water. treated the same as drain to waste hydro.
