Adding light middle of the day

Ok so I'm going to be doing a dished scrog I'll have a 1000w hps and I wanted to also put in a 400w hps in for about 6 hours in the middle of the light cycle, how much added benefit will there be from doing it this way, does anyone else have experience using this for growing?

because I'm trying to manipulate resin production by trying to make it more like mid-day lighting giving the plant more time to adjust, giving it a clear peak time, then a cool down before lights out.

Use a 400 mh instead of hps to mimic the blue'r light of the mid-day sun. Seems like it would be more natural that way.

YES!!! finally someone has come out with this idea also.. I Had a 10x15 foot room about 2 years ago i got 2 light movers for it and had the light moving acrross room... i had 1000w hps ON 12/12 and I addED a 1000w mh, I turn on mh 4 hours into the day and 4 hourse before end of day.. it worked absolutly BEUTIFULL!!!! i couldnt tell you if thc level were higher considering i have no way to test, but the buds were absolutly bigger!!!!

if your gonna experiment, try experimenting with the lighting regimen, like 11 hours of dark and 13 on, or something. i started an experiment like this but got shut down by my ol lady. had family comin.

Haha but I don't want to, I want to experiment with adding light. during a 12/12. When I figure that out, then I'll start doing other experiments with the lights. One at a time.

Dude you are thinking so hard it is making you stupid. The resin (trichomes) are the plants sunscreen. The more UVB light you have the more trichomes are produced. However the hps is very low uvb light where a halide has very high uvb light. The light being off in the in the morning and evening will only reduce the amount of uvb available to the plant. Plants dont care if you mimic the morning or afternoon with less light. All the plant knows is that there is less light so it cant photosynthize as effeciently, which translates into slower growth. Plants just need light to grow and the amount of available light dictates how much growth is going to occour, more the better. Good premise but you need to think about all aspects of light before doing something like this. Plants are stupid and easily manupulated.

Man i get tired of this retardation i need to smoke a :joint: then take a coulple bong loads!
