Addict Grow?

I am thinking of using my *attic* as a grow space the only problem is that it is hard to make complete walls without seriously limiting grow space. My *attic* has that recycled newspaper material as insulation and im wondering if this will harm the girls in any way? Its not moldy or anything just dusty. Would throwing a small hepa filter near the site to run 24/7 improve anything? The air quality up there isnt bad.. just dusty if things are being kicked around

I think you mean your attic lol. There's really not a lot of information to go by but isn't there anywahere else you could grow like a spare room or a closet or a basement?

its attic bro not addict!!!........ i will have pics of mine up tomorrow!! but i drywalled and ran electrical outlets and proper ventilation and exhaust!! you really want a super clean grow room because there is so much stuff that comes in thru the roof venti.e hornet/spider mites /wasp/insects/gnats and the list goes on!! and dependin on where you live the humidity gets unbearable in the summer. and this is just the start of problems so if your not wantin to dump an assload of money into a decnt incognito grow i would advise you not to !!

DARNIT I knew something was off. Thats what you get when your stoned thinking too hard! hahaha

Good point on the bugs... you think If i were to get some heavy mil painters plastic and basically do a "quarantine" style masking off? what kind of cfm would be necessary to cool a room about 60 cubic feet? temperatures run pretty even up there because all the insulation is on the floor and there is adequate ventilation to allow proper breathing... that's why i was considering it in the first place...

I've found that lots of roofs especially tiled roofed houses have lots of light gaps in them. After installing insulation in my house last winter (it was 41ºF outside and I was sweating in the attic) I can tell you that its a hot, dry, dirty place to work in let alone grow plants. Unless you want you roof to light up like a christmas tree you should do what UNICRONLIVES has done and seal off a section with drywall. Awesome setup by the way dude. rep+

My biggest concern with attic grows is the heat. Heat rises so where you gonna ventilate the air too? And also I think that it could be a security issue because of infared cameras and if you have snow on your roof that melts it gives away a lot of growers. Usually people will ventilate air up to their attics to keep cooler air flowing in. Yours is comin along very nicely inicron I remember when you first brainstormed that up.

Okay well thank you for the advice! I think dry walling is just not practical in my roof, ill try to get some pics of what I have but there are studs going up through the floor all the way to the roof about every 2ft making sort of "walls" and they make for a very tricky area. I think perhaps throwing some fiberglass panels on the parts above and around the top of the grow would help with the melting snow and light issue. Not to mention I could use panda film instead and make walls ceilings cover the floors with it to seal the room.. What im wondering now is, how much does a 4" hepa cone filter reduce the cfm of a fan? if I were to have 80cfm exhaust i would need to match that 80cfm with fresh intake correct?
