Hey all

So i've decided to actually spend some decent cash, realizing that is the only way to go TRULY stealth while still controlling environmental conditions.

I've got a 400 watt digital ballast, it was supposed to be super quiet, but there is a humming. It's not as bad as a regular magnetic ballast, but not silent.

I want a SILENT ballast. This is vital.

Any help? All the digital ballasts claim to be quiet, but I want to hear from someone who can actually give testimony.

Cheers

I own 8-600 watt and 6-750 watt digital lumiteck ballast and can put my ear to it and won't hear a thing. I can also lay my head on it after it being on for hours and not get burned.

thanks...nice explaination. Lum it will be. Since it's not hot another plus to put in the closet.

digitals "do" generate heat. i occasionally use a luma 400 watter, and w/o a fan blowing on it, it gets fairly hot. noting like the coils though.
