Active vs Passive intake ?

So given that I'm gonna be facing some below-freezing temps in the next few months, I've had some people on here recommend me getting rid of my active intake and just getting my air exchange from the passive created by my exhaust fan. What does everyone think? Is there any benefit to be had by running my intake active?

Yes, I will have oscillating fans keeping air moving inside the room as well.

really depends on what kind of lights and fans your running, but in most cases an active intake fan isn't neccasary as the negative pressure created by the exhaust is enough to replace the air in the tent

I'm going to be running a 1000w dual-spectrum, exhaust pulling air from room through it and out. 6 plant dwc.

I think as long as your exhaust fan is sufficnetly powerful that you will be fine without the intake as long as your not pulling air in through very long ducting

A passive intake is much easier to maintain negative pressure which is important for controlling temps and odor.

Yeah, the intake fan I got is smaller, so negative pressure would be maintained. I'm starting to lean toward a passive intake. I guess I'm just wondering why anyone would run an active intake when it seems like everyone is saying passive is the way to go.
