active/passive intake combo

Hey,

Setting up a growbox... I got a 220-360m3 exhaust fan rigged (125mm fan)

I have 2 80mm pc fans moving 40fpm equivalent to 1,1x2m3 per minute

in other words

exhaust takes care of 220m3/hrs or 3,6m3/min
2 pcs fans move in 2.2m3/min

should I stick with the pc fan intake or should I make 1additional passive intake 80mm hole???

Thanks in advance

the exhaust fits the chamber:) the question was if a 2,2m3/min intake is sufficient for a 3,6m3/min exhaust...either on its own or in combo with an extra passive intake.

hey

ok
active intake will allow u to keep the intake small and help control the heat a little more if u keep the box on the ground in a a cool area (it will drawl in the cold air near the floor and push into your box) .......................with a active intake u are forcing air in so if the seals or the exhust are not matched/done correctly the air pushes out and u have a stinky area

passive intake ..............this helps u control the smell more......................the drawl back with a passive intake is u need to increase the size of the intake hole to help keep the temp down and not to stress the fan (stressing the fan is blowing or sucking to hard will burn out the motor faster) ..............so if your exhust is120mm u will need a 240mm intake hole ...............this is what i was taught passive intake your double the size of the intake compared to the exhust

and like the guy said the fans are weak u want good air flow to keep the heat down and to promote better growth (i seen this with own eyes buddy has a room but his exchange rate was near the 4 min mark .............mine is at once every 20 secs ).............same soil same feed same seeds mine gave me 3times the amount his did

best way to see what your equip can do is to set it up and simulate a grow for a bit, and see what your numbers are. go/adjust from there.
