Ace of Spades, phenos/traits

Hello I grow out a Ace of Spades seed. the bottom of the leaves turned purple, and the stem is purple, but the buds are green (not purple or pink) at 8 weeks in flower it wasn't done yet. more like 9 weeks.

What Phenos are there???? is there a pink one? I LOVE my A.O.S. but was thinking about planting another seed to see it i can get a pink one (if it exziste)

Color?, flower time, smell. taste,?



my pheno takes about 9 weeks to flower, SMELLS like WAX, taste like BERRYS (really nice berry flavor) I like everything about it except the bud isn't any crazy colors like Black cherry soda.

It seems there is talk about the differnt pheno of ALL strains Except Ace of Spades, I guess they are all the same? but Mine dont turn any cool colors on the buds.

ACE of spades is like the elosive strain. I can find so much info on all the other strains. All i know about ace of spades is, it smells like dr.zoggs sex wax and yeaild heavy...

I want to grow something where i can get a certien Pheno that someone has heard of. I just feel no one is giving any info on this strains pheno's beside the main 2, mine taste like berrys but has no pink/purple in the buds like all the others I have seen.

Hey man... the info is out there... you gotta to look for it. Sub just mentioned Aces on the last weed nerd... there are two main phenos, jtr or black cherry soda leaning. pretty stable by all accounts. There are a couple of videos on sub's you tube channel about aces. Including one with a room of bunch from seed. Look for Daytz grow journal... he found a pretty nice phono and well documented. I popped 5 AOS and only got one female this round but it's going to be some fire... I'm in week 5 and I definitely am getting lemon berry smells, starting to some color showing on the lowers. it's bulking up like the bcs but maybe leaning a little more jtr... we'll see.

No offense but you might not be cut out for growing from seed if you are not willing to hunt for that special pheno.

I guess i am not cut out to grow from seed because I asked what phenos people have had of a certian strain. I guess I am not going to ask anymore fucking questions or ever anwser anybody elses. I will just grow my seeds and keep all my info to my self.

I mite just try a diffent strain I can find more helpfull info on, mybey Dj. shorts Blue berry or Flo. Instend of growing somthing with little info on it.

My comment was only based on that fact that you own words would lead one to believe that you are growing for the approval of others and not for your own satisfaction. There are a lot of people out there that don't want to put the work in and want all the glory. That's why they get a cut and grow it out rather than put the work in. Then all their buddies can stroke their ego.

TGA genetics is some of the best out there and I guarantee if you have any growing skills at all, anything you show your buddies is going to melt their faces.

well how do I tell if I have "that special pheno" ?????? I have more seeds that i can plant, but if I have the best PHENO the strain can offer already, why would i grow out more seeds right now.?


I am hunting for "that special pheno" I was just asking questions on the way. But I won't ask any more questions....

There's nothing wrong with asking questions!... as can happen too often with written words, they can be taken out of context.

That special pheno will be determined by you... depending on what you are trying to achieve. If you are looking to find something that satisfies you then I think it will be pretty obvious. If you are looking to satisfy others then you could be looking for a while. While you could get an overall consensus, you will always have someone that might prefer something else. For the most part, whatever you grow from TGA it's going to be dank. But what are you looking for exactly for? yield, taste, smell, bag appeal, high, medical value? So many variables.

Check out this smoke report from Ocanabis who is testing the Ripped Bubba... Ripped Bubba Smoke report He does a great job of describing the different phenos he came across and what his personal preferences are. All in the eye of the beholder!

Run more seeds at the same time and it will be very easy for you to tell. If your not in awe, keep searching, in 10 TGA seeds you will find a WTF plant. You will know.

The Pheno I have, I am keeping, i am not getting rid of it. I was thinking about planting the rest of the seeds to see if i can find something differnt.

Smell : 10
taste: 10
ease to grow : 9 (almost to tight)
colors on leaves :8
Colors on bud : 3
bud density :10


I like everthing about The pheno i have, But I see others with colored buds. Mines is all Berrys,

I would of thought that the BERRY one would be more colorfull like BLACK CHERRY SODA.

I am after that great berry flavor, but if I already have the berryest, I will go buy a differnt TGA strain to run.

I was thinking about running and keeping two difernt phenos if i find a difernt one. I already have a lemon strain.

What I really don't understand is looking for a bud to be a certain color? I mean if you are a dealer trying to get 120 for an 1/8 or 1/4 based on bag appeal. But to be that concerned about getting colors, all that really matters: Is it good medicine! That being said, I did not see Black Cherry Soda on TGA Seed available from Attitude. And from reading, AOS and Third Dimension sound awesome. Anyone got a smoke report on Third Dimension?

I was just under the impresion that this was badass weed. so any colorful buds aren't good to keep and only to sell. So subcool's offering DRUG DEALER STRAINS now, hell ya corner the market. but what if you find an even more berry one AND purple/pink calaxes? you wont know which is the berryest unless you run more. i say keep a clone, crack some more and keep huntin

I have a ten pack of AOS and will give em all a crack.

Do any weed nerds know what sort of traits during veg that someone should be looking for for a darker coloured bud? Would it be wrong to assume that it would have to be quite BCS leaning instead of JTR?

Ok My AOS is like it is ALL BLACK CHERRY SODA, except the color. Mine taste like bubblegum & berrys not lemons, it grows short and stocky.


The desciption says it taste like Lemon/berry Mine is all berry no lemon.

In the reseach I have done, How my pheno type looks It sould taste like lemon.

And the puple/pink taste like berrys.

I guess I am kinda confused. it is like i have a hybrid of the two main pheno's .

My main issue is I can only have 12 plants, I am keeping my AOS, but was thinking if I can get a differnt pheno of AOS Then I would keep both.

My AOS is INDICA dominate. growth and High. Hits so hard and fast, than slowly fades away, intill you can gather your thoughts to take another hit.

Glad to see your liking it, and I think you are confused but thats alright, I honestly tried to answer you before and rather than understand what I said you kinda flew off a little so I'll try to explain the little I understand to you. I said in my post as its posted on TGA's website under the strain guide, there are 2 main pheno's, JTR and BCS. Now what I meant when I said anything else and you'll have to tell us....is that if it doesnt look a lot like JTR or BCS, its going to be a mix of the 2, the hybrid expression if I'm not mistaken, and if I am someone who knows more will correct me.

I'd suggest either looking around online at subs work or pick up a copy of dank 2.0, I got mine on my kindle app on my iphone, its not an autographed copy but while I have downtime at work I've been sitting there reading it (and no one knows what I'm reading, the plus to having it on my phone). Theres hella strain info in there as well as it helped me fill in a lot of the blank spots about growing, genetics and breeding, mainly about the strains but I learned a lot from the book. Theres still plenty of things I need to figure out, basically all of it, LOL..... basically the things I havent done yet enough to be good at but being a dick isnt going to help me learn any of it any faster, actually its gonna slow the process down.

So you have dank 2.0 correct? doesn't the Black cherry soda look stunning???

But i guess BCS sets the bar really high.

ALL I WAS really trying to deside with this thread was. Do i settle for the Pheno I have for now (the seeds will last years) and get a differnt strain? or to continue the Pheno hunt?

The info I have seen says the BCS dominate one is the keeper. but what I have now is "One of the best weeds i have smoked" I will keep a cutting for as long as i grow, but I was thinking since it anit like the others i have seen, maybe I could grow out more seeds and find enouther Pheno to keep around, so i was trying to see what Phenos people had and what they liked the best. I am guess there is the info i am loooking for out there, i just haven't found it i guess

It all depends on how much space you have KushDog, if it the "best weed" you've smoked then obviously keep a cut. If you enjoy it that much, then grow out some Plushberry, along with your AOS seeds, clone them all and keep the pink/purple looking pheno. I'm currently growing the PBs hoping to get the BCS pheno as well. They also state that there are "two main pheno's", not "only two pheno's". You will always get different plants from seed, its possible that you will get the Soda pheno with no unusual colours on it at all. It looks like one of my plants is leaning that way, despite its indica qualities. The buds are beautiful though, who can blame us for looking for those awesome pink colas!

I hear ya...all I want to do is start more seeds to find more phenos. Especially that I am starting to have a slight understanding of what I'm growing. Myself personally, I decided that I need to grow a strain more than once from clone before passing it on unless its really bad which really isnt going to happen. I'm starting to feel like I'll never learn anything if dont start doing it this way. I have a few grows under my belt and have produced some good bud, but I have yet to produce some grade A, but I'm getting there. I grew one chernobyl last grow that I didnt keep and it was the best aside from the void cutting that I kept which is the apollo dominant one I believe.

I would say having plant limits you should grow it again, as well as you never know, it could be better the second time. I'm figuring (hoping) all the strains I am growing this time that I grew my last grow are going to come out better than they did the first time, like I said....figuring, LOL...

BCS is an amazing looking plant in the dank book, I still havent finished it, I just got to vortex last night, my favorite part was the end where it gives you all the info on the strain:

"Type of high -Heart racing, energizing, confusing, stoned, ripped, curled under stupidity"

AOS is definitely on my short list of strains to grow, but I am really interested in the apollo13bx as well as the apollo crosses so I may wander off into those before I do anything else but I plan to be tied up with chernobyl and the void for a few grows at least. But NOTHING of TGA's looks bad at all, or could I ever say "I dont want to grow that", its like walking into a room full of super models and saying..."wouldnt do her...shes out..."....just something that probably wouldnt happen (maybe a room full of strippers, thats more realistic however TGA's gear is more supermodel-ish I'd have to say), however a room full of TGA ladies is a reality.

Good luck in your hunt dude, theres nothing wrong with either way you choose, I'd say grow this cut for a bit and see what else it holds for you, but if not pop a few more and see what else those beans have to offer.

yep, in three years of legal growing , ace of spades, and her sister Plushberry have been judged by dozens, and have set the bar. Hands down the bet two marijuana strains we ever had, out of over 150 different strains, including every tga subcool seed offered anywhere. I've grown 78 of each so far, both from clones and new seeds, and only smell one difference in Ace of Spades, and its negligible and not worth discussing. These guys are Pros in genetic selection and these were no accident. get your hands on both, stop looking, start cloning.

I've purified both strains in tissue culture and they become stronger with a terpine profile that blows you away from one week into a 60 day flowering cycle. these are extraordinary genetics and my congratulations to Kushdog for discovering this gem. Plushberry, my man, complete your life with this duo. these guys didnt just throw genes in a basket a take a guess, they worked ratios of cbd/cbn/thc/terpine profiles etc.

If these two were the only ones i could have, it would be fine. stellar trippy, no ceiling high, trails, no tolerance buildup or hangovers, or headaches, or negative feelings at all. good vibes,energy and smells/tastes, in the room, inhale, and exhale. Once cultured these gals stop the progression of mutation in their progeny and become perfection. many are pink in the buds, with purply skins. manipulations in temperature will gain your results easily my friend, with either of them, and any of their phenos, which are very few in the tga game plan. none took longer than 50-60 days to finish to a perfect cloudy trichome. another 2 weeks when the trichome contents are degrading may be desired, for those that need an extra gram in their sack, and a sleepy nite nite drool session. they yield low if not topped/trained, but who cares, they are tops !
