ACDE reflector in 2m tent?

I want to run one of these in my tent , it's 2m tall (so 6.5ft+) 1000wDE
What's the minimum distance I can get to the canopy before I'd be better off with a 1000W dominator.
I really want a DE reflector and the plan is to upgrade next time to a 2.2 m heigh tent.

I ran 1 run with a de light in a 4x4x7. Not good at all. Buds started to bleach.ended up with 3/4 lb. if crusty nasty tasting bleached bud.You'lle run out of room after stretch as 6.5 foot isn't enough. The light was too intense.I've only seen one tent tall enough and it's made by Gavita. This company was just bought by monsanto a few months back,I won't give the ANY of my biz. They are killing the planet,at least a big cog in the gears.

Did this happen despite having temperatures in check? I have a good extraction system plus AC 8000btu cold intake

Yes. I could keep tent temp at 70 bud tips ran between 78-80.

Yeah 36" minimum clearance imho. DIY led won't disappoint and solve your problem.

you can run one but need 3 foot of clearance to the canopy. also you will need to add 6k btu of ac cooling per DE
Cob leds run cooler more efficient and you dont need so much clearence.

So like a 1000W cob array? Do they still have good penatration quite expensive?

I think I can still do it with the ACDE as I've gone for 18 clones , going into flower at 7inches high. 1ft Inc pot
I can bodgeineer the the height to 7ft giving me 5ft of height at start of stretch .
The hoods just so damn sexy

Upfront cost maybe a little more but you save over the long run not replacing bulbs every year the less ac needed to cool the room not to mention less electricity to turn the lights on.
Im switching from hps to cobs and if the yield is the same I come out ahead because for me to turn the lights on I need 70A with hps and led will be 40A
I run the dominator xxl open hoods and they are a good light but they have been running 3 years and need to change them.
Think your math is off a little you wouldn't have 5 foot of stretch for flower. 1 foot for the container 1 foot for the light 3 feet of clearance that leaves 2 foot for your plants. If you grow into that 3 foot of clearance you will start bleaching and burning the tops. You can get by adding more airflow and you would gain a foot but that is about it. Like a fan blowing across the top of the canopy. I have gone within a foot of the light but had fans for the canopy and the light was on a light mover.

If I run my DE in room and with some tall sativas I don't have the clearance needed even @ 7 feet at 1040W. I had to run 630 watts at the end of the grow but it worked okay. I'm using a Galaxy adjustable watt thing and found the 1000 watts almost too much for my small room (4'x4') but 630W I can get them down to 18" above the canopy without burning too much. I've got the open hood which needs AC when the temps are above 60F outside. Winter I'm good to go.

I would say double scrogging the area out would be ideal

I've gone for the AC DE anyway, il risk it then upgrade the tent height, fuck it if it gets really bad il cut and velcro a hatch in the top of the tent f I need to.
I'm my roof has a very high pitch so I've got 3-4ft above the tent.
Il go with a double scrog, got a 18inch fan I can blow above the tent+ an 8inch AC air duct.
Be interesting anyway.

I will go cobs in a year or 2 when this lamp needs replacing

I can get my tent to 20C with 1000watts of HID lighting in there running 24/7 so should be all good
