Acclimation "Hardening off" Techniques

I am under fluorescent lighting for three months. My acclimation is as much for wind exposure as sun. My area has some pretty decent wind well into June and a fan in the lighting area can't duplicate the back and forth snapping motion of severe outdoors wind. I view the acclimation as cheap insurance for my investment of time and money. No different than doing a credit default hedge on investments.

I started a grow this last weekend(which I will be posting a log for) that didn't really involve any "hardening off" I set the rooted clones into Jiffy pots in a semi shaded area, but aside from that precaution, they just went straight from inside to outside.

Most experienced growers use high quality CFLs or HID lighting to start their plants.

This reduces or eliminates the need for hardening off.

I really like the idea of placing seedlings outdoors immediately after germination, and bringing them in at night.

My own methods are different but accomplish the same thing. My babies are started under large CFLs and go into a heated greenhouse once they have two sets of true leaves.

Yo do understand that when left to nature it did not produce to it fullest potential?? And that if you take a 6 foot tall indoor potted plant and put it outside transplanted more than likely high winds will blow it right over? you may as well take a rain forest penguin and throw it to Antarctica because some penguins live there.

but I am curious... what difference do you think fem seeds makes when it comes to going from indoors to outdoors? I maintain that it's still a matter of what indoor environment they had and what the outdoor environment they are going to will be like... weak genetics do matter but i don't know why you threw fem seeds in there?
