So i just finished 4 strains from ILGM (Blackberry kush BBK / purple kush PK / banana kush BK and purple haze PHZ). During early flower i noticed a few 'bananas' indicating the BBK was herm (was well into female flowers before they presented). I thought i castrated em all but one day when i went to water and bumped stem pollen dispersed everywhere.
I let them run their course and just figured id get a few seeds in the batch, the buds still looked frosty as hell and had great fruity terpene profiles. Anyways finally harvested it (ran about 2-3 weeks longer than 'flower time' as ILGM stated for the strains) and the whole buds are just covered in seeds (like tiny popcorn nugs will have 10-20 easy). Id say 95% are high quality viable seeds from what ive gone through thus far. I am seeking validation of new strain names from the seeds produced and on my decision of breaking it all down to shake / sift over the trimming screen, separate the seeds / keif and shake (will probably just make butter with leftover shake maybe roll a few joints). So far ive worked only the smallest buds of each strain and have kept the larger colas because the bud just looks nice and it hurt a bit to think of just grinding it down to shake.
So the blackberry kush was the herm and here are the new potential genetic names for the girls that got impregnated
PK seed will be Purpleberry Kush (PK plant on its own was super fruity and frosty)
BK seed wil be Banana berry smoothie (this one was less berry fruit and more sour skunky interesting to see what the blackberry does to it)
PHZ seed will be purpleberry haze
I will probably have several hundred seeds from each plant. Am i correct in my assumption that there is a high probability these seeds will be fem?
any other suggestions for how to process the harvest?
IM gonna test the seeds at some point regardless (or should i just stick to the known that i still have seeds for)?
I attached a few pics of plants in late flower and after harvest for reference..
