AC reciculation vs exchange

That’s true but the light where dim during veg and I couldn’t get the room under 80.
All good man, I am definitely not disputing that you need some cooling. I was just asking about the 60 degree number. Make sure that when you have those cool temps that your humidity doesn't spike. The cool air holds less water and that makes it spike RH% easier.

Hey Renfro!

I dont need my temps down to 60 per say. I just need a way to keep the proper climate in my room at or around 80f. So if my LED wont keep the room temp up then I'll add a small heater on a thermostat and if it gets to warm I'll have a small 6-12000btu portable or window AC to bring it back down

Is there a better way to do this ? And I'm not sure what VPD is

My room will have a dehum aswell
Hey did you pick an AC unit yet?

I also forgot to explain VPD a little bit. Check out these articles on the matter, good stuff to know:

Unfortunately I learned this the hard way. I have twelve leds and my whynther dual hose doesn’t do shit to cool my room. I wasted 500 dollars on that. I had to buy a 24000btu minisplit for 1k. I hope this works. Especially since I’ll be using my grow room to dry as well and need to get the temps down to 60.
I love mini splits. I have two 4 ton units that are my pride and joy. lol I would always go with a minisplit if it's possible. They are so energy efficient too. You can also get the low ambient so they will work in the winter, mine run down to 5 degrees outside and I have seen mitsubishi units that will go all the way down to -29 outside. Commonly used in server rooms those pricey Mitsubishi units are crème de la crème.

those are really good articles, straight and easy to follow. I mean i'd love to spend 5k building this hobby but right now it may or may not be in the cards. In your honest opinion what is more worth the money for these goals

GOALS / SPECS / IDEAS

- 5x5 or 6x6 grow tent with a Scrog setup want to be able to walk around it (might build a room simular dimension maybe 8x8)
- legally allowed to have 4 plants but well see if I hold to that but for now say 4 (my idea each plant gets a 2x2 area 4 plants = 4x4 scrog)
- goal is to learn how to get weight and nice looking buds
- most likely soil for learning purposes ? althought i thought NFT looked cool plus less money in nutes due to recirculating ?

A) a super nice led i was looking at the Fluence Spydrx Plus i think its 1530mmol with 660w input and a said coverage of 4x4 flower (no heat no need for an AC most likely)

PROS - some say better smoke/trichomes production/nicer looking
- energy efficent less energy for light and quite possibly no AC needed depending on Dehum heat output
- cool looking light good balance spectrum with an even spread due to adjustable light bars (read a guy had 800 par on the outer edges of the 4x4 with a center par of 1100 if par is even a thing people care about or its LED bullshit idk)

CONS - Super expensive

OR

B) skip the $2000 LED light buy a minisplit ($1500?) and run hps like gavita for around $550? total around the same

PROS - minisplit would provide growth if I wanted in the future depending on how big a unit I got (1000w Gavita needs around 4-6000BTU each?)
- proven light system ?

CONS - gavita less efficient more heat more ac requirement more power total

OR

C) Renfro suggestions best way to spend $2500 or $5000 on a small setup?

Well personally I would skip the 2k light and get the minisplit then upgrade the light later. I still use HPS and don't see myself changing at those prices anytime soon.

Only thing about a mini split is you be paying over 1k for the unit and an additional 2k to have it installed. Something I had to find out the hard way.
