Ac infinity way too loud?

Got a 6 inch ac infinity, even the speed controller doesn't reduce the noise.
It's louder than 6 vacuums, is this normal? I don't think hanging it up, putting inside the room, or anything really, will help my situation.
Any advice?

Is it connected to a filter? In a room not a tent right? They make a lot less noise when suspended in the air by straps as to not touch anything else to cause vibration (amplifying the sound)

They make noise reducers for them as well as some home made contraptions I've seen involving boxes and sound deadening with rubber mats for the vibration mentioned above. Mine is fairly loud at anything above 4 and it's running at 6 usually. I've just learned to live with it after a few years. I also don't have to worry about neighbors or nosy visitors so it's no big deal in my situation.

I have a 4” and two 6” ACI fans, none of them are really loud. I can’t really hear my 6” fan outside of the tent. Unless I crank it up to about 5 or so. All ran with filter first attached to fan with short section of ducting, then ducting out of the tent.

As mentioned, suspend them. Then run the ducting and attach a filter then test again. Having the fan suspended, filer and ducting should cut down the noise considerably. You might be happy with the noise. I know I’m 100% okay with mine. If not, you can buy a silencer.

Moving a lot of air is going to make some noise. Smaller fans will be louder than large fans so you could get an 8 inch fan and run it on a lower speed setting to reduce noise. You can still use a 6 inch filter, just get an 8 inch to 6 inch duct reducer.

I also have the AC Infinity 6 inch and mine has a reasonable noise level.

They have a noise reduction tube that does help I have one for each of my AC 8’s but, the real trick is to never need to run it more than half power and it’s never too loud.

Lmao any fan is going to be loud when the blades are exposed. Needs to be connected to ducting and it'll sound completely different
I personally run canfans. They're imo the best, and last the longest. I've also run my 334cfm canfan for over 10 years and it doesn't skip a beat.
I also hang my fans off the ceiling with ratchet straps to reduce vibrations

Think canfans were ruck over my neck of the woods.
I don't have my originals but they are still in service in other people's grow rooms. 24/7, 365 days a year for decades.. quality equipment.

I don't understand "o fans have you" ?
I dunno id its acoustic but its layered. Ac infinity brand stuff.
I don't understand it either. Probably my phone mistyping.

If its layered then it's probably acoustic or insulated.
Another good idea is to run oversized duct , depends on the noise type , airflow you can solve, motor hum is a different frequency and even brick walls won't stop that

I think I'm happy with it now. I'm guessing when the filter goes on the noise will drop. Might put it in a box as well if I'm feeling up to it.
Do you know if it would be best to have a length of ducting between the filter and fan, or have them right next to eachother?

Attach the fan directly to the filter, and run ducting out of the tent. All extra ducting will do between the filter and fan is increase the load on the fan tbh, but at the end of the day it's the total length of the ducting that matters., As in 8" before and after the fan will be the same as 16" at the exhaust end of the fan.
