AC Infinity, how silent?

Hey guys.

Long story, short... i build a diy grow box 2x2x6, and was planing to use 3x noctua nf-p12. The pc fan has a pressure of 1.2-1.7mm H2O. I am just really beginning to doubt the efficiency when i add a Carbon filter.

I havent drilled the holes for the fan yet, so i wont have to rebuild anything when i find out it wont work..

So i was looking for some silent options... since silence and smell is number 1# priority!

I found the AC infinity cloudline S4, and the description says it runs at 28dBA.. im thinkink this is the Sound on MAX? What do you think it will Sound like at level 1/8? I will be mounting the fan inside my box, so the noice should be significantly lowered.

If the AC infinity seems silent enough, i will go with that option for exhaust, and maybe just a pc fan for intake.

Hope someone can help, just waiting for the right ventilation so my grow can start!

Thank you

I use one of these
Though I bought mine from an ebay uk reseller at considerably more cost.
With a speed controller its quieter than my pc circulation fans and all my other circulation fans.

I hear the AC infinity is as quite as they claim. Maybe look on youtube for a test.

Found a youtube video on the sound test, but its a little hard to compare the sound to my situation tho..
But yeah, luckily they do come with a speed controller that has 8 levels. Just hoping level 1 or 2 will be very near silent in the box, maybe with some acoustic foam close to it.

I have the T4 and on speed 1 or 2 its literally totally silent. Like sometimes I have to check to see if its really on silent. It doesn't even really put out a noticeable hum until it hits speed 5 or 6.

Depending on how you mount it you might want to put something to dampen the vibration. Mine sits on a shelf right in front of my exhaust port and i was getting a little vibration bc of how I mounted it. Fixed that with a small strip of the rubberized shelf/drawer liner stuff from the dollar store that I had lying around. I pretty much just leave mine on speed 6 but that is gonna be overkill for your box. I doubt you will need to go past speed 4.

AC Infinity makes quiet fans. I work in high end AV and I've seen a lot of their equipment rack cooling fans used due to how quiet they are. They are pretty popular in that market.
Their cooling fans for racks seem to be 21dBA at the highest, but i hope the lowest level for the 4” cloudline will be a bit under that. Thanks for your comment, very helpful

Sounds really good, just the comment i needed! How about the air comming out of the end? Does it make a “wuush” at low levels?

I replaced my shit China fan with a 6” duct fan from them. Couldn't be happier with it. Even at high speeds all the sound is the air moving through the little holes in the carbon filter, the fan is so quiet you don't hear it over the air moving. At low speeds it super quiet. Would recommend. I think it's a quiet as you can move the amount of air, if your not happy with it your hoping for magic. :bigjoint:

That all depends on what you use for ducting and what you have on the end (wide open or louver slats). The air movement alone will make a little noise as it hits bumps and ridges along the way.

I run 2 of the A.C infinity fans. A T6 paired with a S6. In my 5x5 tent i don't really run them much faster than speed 4. My set up is in my basement and there is 0 noise noticable from upstairs even at max speed. From down stairs speed 1-3 is barely noticeable. i would say they're less or equal to a oscillating fan you would have in your house at speed 4-7. At speed 8-10 you're gonna notice it. No complaints so far. Only had them maybe a month. Really like the temp and humidity controller. I would recommend them. 20200314_215818.jpg
