Wow I didn't realize the 2 digital ballast required 3000btu alone.
you can get away with less. all depends of how well your room is insulated. at the long run you will save $$$ on your electric bill, with your ac running less but like i said all depends of how well the walls, ceiling and floor are insulated.

Good luck

What is your setup. Air cooled hoods? Active/Passive Intake, Inline fans(CFM?)?

I have a 5000btu window unit cooling a 14'L 9'W 8'H room, i have it sectioned off
1/2 bedroom 1/2 grow op with 1400w of light(1kDigital&400wDigital), both in cool tubes with a 400CFM ActiveAir Inline fan blowing through them and when the 1kHPS is on at night
after an hour my ac can't keep the room below 80 right now. Hoping for cooler nights
to start bringing in cool fresh air.

Alittle details on your setup may help :)
Happy Growin! :)

Refrigerated air recirculates the same air.It removes moisture and with a refrigerant system attempts to remove heat. With the size room you describe and the heat from the lights I would use a 12,000 BTU unit. Nothing smaller. They will be on craigslist soon with Fall coming.

Im using a 6500btu windo ac in my 6x3x8 flower room. But thats actually only like 5 and a half feet above the flood table. Its a sealed room with open hoods, I built a fals wall to make the ac box on top and a vegg box on bottom.
