using 4 40watt cfls, equivalent to 800watts, i have 4 tangerine dream seeds(feminized) and 4 klashnikova seeds(feminized) germinating , i have a box built that's 2x2x3 to start them in and i have an intake fan and outtake fan set up ... am planning on using peatmoss and perlite to put the seedlings in,

can anyone please give me any tips how high to put the lights at first, the perfect temp for the box, i will be able to post pics once they're planted

Hi dude, im using 1 125watt CFL so im sure you'll be fine...
Lights need to be as close as posible, 3/4 inches, to avoid long stretchy stems.

I've found the perfect temp is room temp and humidity between 40-60%.

I used normal tomato soil with nutes already in there so i didnt have to feed them until week 4.

Excited to see ur pics, good luck :D

P.S. Im still on my first grow, so i'm still learning, however RIU and google are a godsend :D
Also should have said im doing 2 plants only lol.

What's the plan after they sprout? Soil? Hydro? Garbage can due to seedlings drying out too fast? Height of your light? Well, place the back hand of your palm under the light. If it's too hot for you, then its too hot for your little ones.

Hey Blizurp i hate to be the bearer of bad news but 160 watts of cfl( equivalent watts are useless) is not going to be near enough for 8 plants. It may be good for one, two at best. Furthermore unless your growing autos, going 12/12 from seed or doing some serious lst and tying down your going to run out of headroom real quick. My advice is to only do two plants with that setup and do some research on lst so you can keep your ladies real short. There are many ppl here who are more than willing to help so dont be shy about asking. Good luck.
