??? About Cooling exhaust air, just thinking in the box you can say

I was just thinking about ways to clean and exhaust grow room air. Is there a product or DIY for a water bubble box to help cool the air and possibly help with smells. What i am thinking about is something that acts like a bong or water pipe. Carbon Filter, duct work, 25 gallon??? rubbermaid container (would have to be made air tight), Duct work, Fan CFM???, and vent. Just thinking it helps when you smoke so why not. I know it would at least help with the temperature for those that are really worried about that. I would think the only down sides would be the cleaning or the water every few days(i suspect it would start to smell like a bong but of course i would also think you could do something to scent the water) and the bubbling sound which may be muffled somehow. I mean if you really wanted to get fancy you might be able to recycle your hydro systems when you flush them out. I dont know i'm just thinking but then again i'm high too so you tell me.

thanks for helping but do me a favor, if this is a dumb ass question then please i only need to be told that once if that is all you are gonna post but if you can add to why this wouldn't work or come up with a design it would be much appreciated.:eyesmoke:

If someone buys me the fan i will try this oversized bong theory out...lol.....electrical fans and water sound fun...lets do this..hahaha......................seriously though lets do this

I know it sounds kinda stupid but i was just brainstorming. also i was thinkig a decent length of duct work coming out the box before the fan, I'm just not sure how much suction the fan will make in order to make this work.

This seems impractical. Why not just use a carbon scrubber, or an ozone generator? Those options are much easier to implement and more efficient than what you are proposing. I don't think the results would justify the cost of this experiment. But I could be wrong.

heres a thought...
When you smoke from a bong, does the exhaled smoke not smell like cannabis?
I'm pretty sure it still does. The water only removes water-soluble toxins and such...
My carbon air scrubber coasted me 10 dollars and it wont have to be cleaned for at least this grow, if not one or 2 more grows.
Good idea though..
*edit* also if you were worried about heat or FLIC, you could just dump the exhaust smoke into the attic or under the floor.. It would be more efficient that way..

Actually i dont have a need for this as i do not grow but am doing research and had a brain fart with this idea popping into my head, just thought i would put it out there to see if it made any sense. Also i know that the smoke from a bong still smells but i was just putting it out there as i think smoke is a stronger odor then the circulating air may be and thought this may help a little in conjunction with a carbon filter but i was going more for the heat signiture aspect. I dont know like i said just thinking.

To cool the air you would need to coil your vent through the water. At a minimum you would probably need 25' of coiled 4" or 6" vent submurged in cold water. You would need at least a 55 gallon drum of water to do this. This method wouldn't give you the "bong" effect but should cool the exhaust air if that were the concern.

i thought about this also. It would definatly cut the heat, and could be made into some crazy-cool steampunk contraption, but Tomogchi is right, it probobly would still smell. Mythbusters proved that scents can pass through water with air.

Not saying your wrong but wouldn't pulling the air through a water filter cool the air also? I see where you are going in that the air would not be obstructed and x amount of tubing needs to be used to cool x amount of heat in this manner. I mean it does cool the hit coming off a bong with a much hotter heat source! Again i dont know which is why i throught this out there so i can learn.bongsmilie
