? about 400w mh/hps lights

My first grow, it seems my 400w mh bulb is brighter than the 400w hps is this normal or do I have a defective bulb?

Mine seems the same way. They are different spectrums.

yes..diffrent spectrums..the mh is more of a bright blue color..hps is more yellow orange!

yeah the MH should put out more of a white light so it seems brighter but the hps will be more orangish so it will seem dimmer
