We just see things differently.
I was trying to say that by giving up your $140, you didn't help society.
You helped your wife........the woman you love and plan to spend the rest of your life with.
There's a big difference.
It all boils down to jealousy, we could tax the rich ten times more, it won't change the lazy liberals lives.

Please Buck, Jesus boy has a point. But I do the same as you. The difference, I don't try and justify it. Some selfishness and greed is good. It only becomes bad when you take from others. Also when it comes to the point you get joy having what others don't and make them miserable.
Until then, who cares. Everyone wants as much as possible. I don't even care if it's you.
Btw, one word, "Amazon." Then no income tax, no big deal. What only sucks is property taxes end up higher.
If it wasn't for our warmongering blood lust, there wouldn't be any income tax. Lincoln is the reason, and since you love income tax so much, you and the Democrats can change his title to Republican for all I care.

Not a fairy tale at all, you just confirmed exactly what I said. There is nothing idiotic about a flat tax rate, progressive tax systems are heinous and without merit. You make more so you not only have to pay more, you have to pay a higher percentage of your earnings because paying more just isn't enough.
Not to mention most flat tax systems I've seen almost always include a cost of living allowance around 18-24k, so the poorest of the citizens pay nothing and the middle class only pay the percentage on about half of their income. The rich still end up paying far more and the percentage they pay is based on a far higher percentage of their income. Plus, you take out all the loopholes that allow the rich to pay lower percentages than their secretaries.
But, then you wouldn't need the IRS and staggering costs that it takes to run it. Citizens wouldn't have to pay for tax software or accountants, saving them even more. April 15th would just be another day of the year. And it's been shown that it would increase the revenue to the government. Gosh, it just sounds horrible, doesn't it?
Speaking of fairy tales and deceit, when are you going to cough up that proof that you paid 25% federal income taxes on that $30k ?

That's the thing, socialism isn't far and never will be. Pro-socialists can attempt to justify their ignorance from any angle, and it always comes back to being the opposite of "fair".
They fail to realize that life is not fair, hence they do nothing more than attempt justify their own ignorance. It's somewhat like a cult mentality... delusional, but justified in their own minds.
And while one has a right to practice cultism, they don't have the right in forcing others to join, for their own potential benefit.

One would argue taht in order to avoid these type of arguments, you get rid of the income tax. And nobody pays nothing.
Or a very low flat tax, i.e. 5%. And to accomodate that low flat tax, you make the neccessary cuts (Austerity FTW) without any emotional arguments for it or against it.
