A Super Silver First

No problem, your journal answers a lot of questions from genetics, training to yeild optimization. Yes 3 gallon because I'm going to transplant my friends plant in the same size so I can keep the control of the experiment.

Again I appreciate you stopping by and thanks for your invested interest.

My plants get music I have 2 speakers in the room Anytime im in there they are rocking out!!! I did see that mythbusters but not sure there experiment was very accurate. that study would be better conducted indoors with all other aspects being the same plus on the show there watering got messed up. So i would think the ones farthest from the watering line would have got less water when it broke, which could have easily made those results.

I figure it can't hurt. since I moved the plants from the living room coat closet to the hut in my room, they are closed off to the sound. Oh well, next grow ill try it out.

Update time.

The air basket setup is working like a dream and I can't wait to see the differences between my plants and my friends'.

Not much report other than Mary's impressive comeback from being pretty damaged in the beginning. Here's some pictures of the kid's as we speak.

So, i've been wanting to do a scrog setup since the beginning and changed my mind several times due to space issues and the two different strains I was growing, then the extra plant etc. Pinksensa's journal inspired me and I said hey wtf, it can't hurt. I finally have all of them pretty similar in growth right now, and weird enough it's actually Jane that's laggin' but I just shot her up with a full blast of bloom nuts so she'll be up with the rest soon.

I bought some netting at the hydro store a while back and didn't realize til i took it out of the package, that the holes are like 4" X 4" which is entirely too large for this plant in a scrog grow. I already bought the pvc pipe and connectors for the frame and didn't feal like going back to the hardware store for chicken wire so I just doubled up the net and the spacing seems like it should work.

Each plant will be getting at least two square feet for training within the canopy. I'm really excited to see how this goes.

anyone who has done a scrog or has more of an Idea than I do, please join in and I'm always open to suggestions. Thx and :peace:

I have never done scrog so i cant be of any help there.
Looks like jane has responded well to the basket, she looks a lot fatter and wasn't that mary plant half dead a week ago?
Seems to have picked up well.

Give the baskets a week or 2 and they will soon outdo the normal pots.
As i said before though i had baskets with thousands of holes in them top to bottom so i don't know if that will be of significance to your experience but in theory the one you have should work just as well:blsmoke:

Thanks for stoppin by and leaving a comment. Yeh the air basket creates some stellar growth, although most of it was in density with Jane due to her Strain, being Fim'd and how close the light is. I moved the light up to promote some stretching to the net and also, with the canopy size, I need the footprint a little larger.
If I can get my buds anything close to yours with the use of the basket and the screen then I'll be ecstatic for my first harvest, however, even if I get one bowl out of this I will be grateful.

Hey, glad my experience could help you. It's been a journey, but like the recurring theme on this forum keeps reminding us: With this plant, Less is more. All it took was a good amount of patience and the right tools to promote a healthy environment. A 95 degree coat closet and some force fed plants does not resemble a healthy environment. As far as the air basket, why not start next transplant? the roots need oxygen all the time, in vegetative stage I imagine it would be very helpful. It's a very low-cost, high-yield application. Keep it up, and I'll be watching for your grow. :blsmoke:

Looks like you got through all the hard times-your next grow will be storming. It's the waiting game now. Another 30 days or so?

Thanks for stoppin' by and I appreciate the kind words. Yeah I can't wait for next grow, considering I got the air basket and ScrOG setup halfway through this grow along with the rest of my meters/hygrozyme etc.. I'd say at least 30 days for my neighbors plant aka Fred and Jane, however, Mary's going to be at least two months or more.

Still looking good.
Best of luck with the flowering:blsmoke:
Sup sup, pleasure to see you in here, thanks for that. Any idea what these white spots on the leaves are? I looked with the microscope and they're not mights or bugs, just almost dust-like. Not trichomes either :( They are on all 3 plants, I think it might be due to the Floranectar... Not sure.

Update:
I transplanted Fred into a 3 gal. pot, since the other plants are around the same height now. Fred was way rootbound... it will be interesting to see the explosive growth. Now the comparison experiment can commence. Hopefully it doesn't stress out. I've been pruning the shit out of Fred since it has so many fan leaves covering the lower budsites. The damn plant is really dense.

Mary:

Jane

Fred:

That's it for now, I'll be headin' to New Orleans for the next few days. Probably update at the end of next week.

Both of my plants in the basket are budding extremely fast and dense, though Fred is healthy, its not as far along. All the plants look great, though mary has been dealing with some powdery mildew, which I think was caused by the humidifyer being to close to her at night. I sprayed her down with some h2o2+water mixture-hope it works before harvest.

I will have pictures this weekend taken by a hi-def camera so stay tuned.

Greetings. A quick update:
Fred has undergone some serious shock from the transplant and is losing leaves quick. Any advice would be helpful.

But on a brighter note, my plants are doing just fine. Here are some pictures:

So this is the final Update. I already chopped down jane and smoked it all. No camera around to take pics :-| Anyway this thread was originally about the super silver haze so luckily I have harvest pics for those interested. Sorry about the quality, camera sucks.

I'd like to say i'm pretty pleased with a little more than 5 grams for my first grow. I suppose it's not bad for an almost dead plant, but then again, i'm a perfectionist and obviously desire larger yields. Thanks everyone for directly or indirectly giving me advice throughout the grow. Keep an eye on my new grow Northern Lights Bubba Kush Super silver Haze. I look forward to seeing you there. :peace:

You need to be real careful smoking on pot with mould on dude.
You can water cure that to get rid of it though:blsmoke:
