well if nothing else comes from all this you have made my mind up weather to buy cfl or hps cheers very informative !

atomic good luck,, either one is great depending on your situaton and space, i cannot deal with the heat of hps so i use cfl's, but i am very happy with my results, from 4 plants i get 9 ounces every 7-8 weeks.. plenty for me,, 40 bucks a month in electric..good luck

NO SHIT I WOULD LOVE 2 600w hps, and an endless supply of fox farm, with are your bloom inhancers and co2 setups, who the hell would not want that. And i agree with you 100% i deserved retaliation. Hey Rip.. not to fight with you but you could check out RiddleMe or others that use CMH bulbs. I hear they are much cooler than other HIDs and grow great pot. As for cost I got my 400watt HPS set up for $100 on Craigslist complete with bulb, ballast, and hood. Just a thought. G'Luck with your plants.

My bud looses exactly half of its weight when its dried....so 23 oz's wet = 6 oz's dry sounds pretty off the wall.

I thought this site was here for all people who love weed and to get some help and advice from more experienced growers. Bob Marley and Jack Herer would be really disappointed in some of the assholes that we have here.

Im gonna jump in here and Im not taking sides in the argument. Iv grown with both CFLs and HPS. CFL's do grow some savage bud if you wanna go for pure stealth, they really do! But IF you can handle the heat from a HPS then go for it, its vastly better but does need a little more effort to use (ventilation).

OP, what the guys are trying to say is that instead of using 800w of CFL's is that you could use a 250w (1/3ish of the power used) HPS without much more than a fan on your plants (if you leave the door open anyways) and produce the same amount you are now, possibly a little more and you'll probably get higher quality bud.

This is where my post will differ from the rest: Your bud Im sure is good and it probably does get you major toasted but you could do things just a little differently (using a quarter dose of even generic tomato feed when your plants look deficient) even without any change to your base grow technique/equipment. I think most are just trying to help you out even just with tweaking what your doing now. Everyone can always learn more about growing, so dont be offended with what Iv said, and Im not trying to change you onto HPS, just telling you some facts.
