Gonna keep a little thread going on my new diggs for the ladies.. thinking maybe do something like a from build to harvest err along those lines...

The Before

soon to be drying room. Building a wall to surround this closet and the room to the left.

Soon to be my 4,000 watt flower room (witch will hopefully turn into a 8,000 watt by winter)

Tell us more sketchy! Are you going to have the 8k in one bud room? I struggled with that decision for quite a while. I opted for 2-4k rooms only because I am such a strain whore, and want to run two plants of every good strain out there, lol.

one solid 8K room.. That is the goal at least :) the flower room as of right now is something like 9'x11' when I get done it will be a little closer to 9' x 20' two rows of four should fit very nice IMHO. Still need to buy another AC unit or two if I do go 8K.

water cooled lighting seems pretty straight tho too... what you guys think?

I want to do this in my hydro room. I posted link and everyone thought I was talking about different water cooled lights. lol
I am hoping my first 4k room will get me this set up for the other room.

What kind of hoods you using? Ballasts, bulbs? (just curious)

I was wondering what size chiller would be needed for 55-110 gallons water and 4k lights. I would really love you to spend the money and rock this shit out. Think it's a slick ass way to go. The one and only thing that caused me to pump my breaks a little, was hearing how efficient mini-splits are and understanding (somewhat, lol) the importance of high seer ratings.

I use no name ballast right now but, have purchased these for my new ballasts (just waiting on the mail man)

ballast (micro Mole)

the hoods are the magnum XXXL's I was going to go with the raptor hoods but, you have to unbolt them to remove the lights... so I just went with the little bit smaller option. Bulbs I use the Eye Hortilux.

And about the water cooled lighting. If you can afford the chiller ($1200-$2400) the ice boxes are the way to go IMHO. it cools everything! light, rez tank, acts as it's own AC unit... just seems like the benefits very much out weight the coast of the system. I have only ever seen one of these in action and while set up seems a little complicated.. I think like everything follow the directions and it should be okay.

Pretty cool and ambitious man, good luck!

You might consider using a light mover and half as many lights. Sure saves on the electricity and the plants love it!

I have looked and looked for an 8k room using water to cool. lmao. Thanks bro.
Any way you can get this up and running today and get some quick autos in there tomorrow going? I need to see this. Just kidding man. This is going to be great!

the only benefit I see in having the room separated is having the lights on a flip...(4 ballasts powering 8 lights)... and less heat to deal with.

light movers have a place. They do make it very hard to cool the actual light so u must really be able to handle the room heat. They add about 30% to the light per sq ft formula

here me out on this real quick beans... reading about and to a greater degree watching it on youtube. people that add 1. a grid pattern 2. more lights 100% of the time boost the yields (given the room can handle it or you accommodated for the addition)

the overlap I think is the key. when I was running 3 600s in a straight line.. my yield per plant was something around 3-4 Zips. I added one more 600 and rearranged the lights into a grid and the harvest almost changed over night..( I did add bigger hoods as well).. nothing changed other then the lights. same feed, temps and all the rest. plants moved from 3-4 to 5-6 with the addition of super cropping, lollipoping, and longer veg time I can push some of my strains to give me 10-12 per plant. I don't think a light mover.. when compared to having the lights... can compete. To me it's just a good way to save $.

Those changes all added up for you sketch. bigger hoods = cooler. Lolli, super longer veg all contributed. But More light is the winner IMHO. 50 watts per sq is a good startin point. My flower room numbers are around 80 watts.

1,000 watt raptors above. light movers with bare bulb side lighting? you get the grid effect without as many lights. you can also add different spectrums of light.

to me there is no ONE right way to grow. take the room + the genetics + the grower + the desired results + $$$$ = a good start
