A quick question...

do i position my CFL's normally ( | ) or sideways ( -- ) for best results? And, 12/12 from seed... Do I just use warm, or do I need to use cool until a certain time?

the light is much more intense from the sides, you can do your full grow with either 6500 K or 2700 K I prefer a combination of both for flowering and just 6500 K for veging.

I'd go with 18/6 and only use 6500K for veg like frmfboi said

When growing with cfl's it is best to keep the lights on 24 hours during the veg state. Then go straight to 12/12. I have seen this many times and it works great. Because cfl's don't put out a lot of light it is ideal to use side lighting so that the lower buds get the light they need to produce good buds. A short bushy plant is what you want to see because cfl's can't provide enough light for a plant that is over 2 feet tall. A lot of people use the 18/6 for veg but if u want to see better results go with 24. You can switch to 12/12 just 16 days after germination and have a crop in 68 days. Good luck and smoke the bud!
