a question or two about curing

Well bro to be honest it may be in the genetics, just my opinion. Reason why I say this is because I normally grow "mid grade aka bagseed" I pick good seeds from good herb I smoked. Normally the mids don't have that exotic smell/taste everyone craves, but still a descent smoke.

So I ran a few grows, 15 different mods I liked. Majority are all finishing up now. 2 are drying now. 1 has been curing about 5 days. The rest are still showing little amber so they are still growing but anywho.

Smell, they all have a unique smell, gets a little milder after chop so far...

The curing bud I actually first tried yesterday, mind u this I had to chop early due to it becoming root bound at 8-9weeks full flower in a solo cup.
I tried it in a bong, everything cln n fresh bottled water at bottom. W/ no time to flush this smoke or anything pre harvest here are results.
Hit was pretty damn good. Pretty good high, majority head high. Felt energetic. Taste was ok, no real flavor but nothing to brag about. No crackle in buds. Came out grey after burned, broke down nicely.

The taste thing is my issue to. My previous three harvests were the same. Basically when it comes down to it its the genetics. Gotta order some exotic seeds. If u did I would prefer trying a better breeder/supplier.

i am wondering if it is the CaMg+ that i was giving them now since i kind of get a metallic taste going on. i even dried the shit out of a small portion of the plants i had to harvest early because i screwed them up. it had been 'curing' for probably a month and still tastes kind of metallic. using https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/514841-perfect-cure-every-time.html on my thai plant now which i stopped giving nutes to about 2 weeks prior to harvesting it. the initial smoke without curing it was harsh but did not have that nasty taste. the stuff with the nasty taste still kicks like a mule so i am not tossing it, just disappointed...
