What types would be recommended for chronic pain? Specifically, a failed back surgery, coupled with fibromyalgia, and carpal tunnel. I am at the end of my grow, and looking for new clones. Any input is appreciated.
I'm sorry but I read this and had to laugh, and the first time that came to mind was the old saying Captain Obvious. "Try some Sativas, some Indicas, and some CBD strains". Um unless I'm missing something what else is there to try? you covered all of the basesI'm going through something very similar as you- chronic pain issues from failed surgeries. I've tried many, many different strains and still haven't found anything that directly relieves my pain. The most relief I get from cannabis is the way it takes my mind off the pain for a bit- almost makes me forget about it, but that's short lived. Others claim actual pain reduction. Everybody is different and cannabis will effect people different ways. I usually use cannabis in the evenings only for some relief and to help me get to sleep, I don't like being "stoned" all day. I prefer being myself during the day- clear headed. Wish I had a better answer for you, I feel what your going through. My best suggestion would be to try some Sativas, some Indicas, and some of the CBD strains and figure out which gives you the most relief. GL.
I don't have much experience with topical methods, but RSO from Maui Bubble Gift (high CBD strain from Eugene I think) orally works well for diabetic neuropathy. Thanks for the help. I know where I can get the chemD. As far as the rubs go...I will be making a batch in a couple of weeks. Was considering the oil, but never done it. Anyone got any exp. with the oil, as far as its' effectiveness?
I second that emotion. Harvesting toward the end of the "harvest window" seems to give me what I want for pain relief, but then, I *like* couch lock as the alternative to writhing in pain. It's such a relief to realize, "Hey, nothing hurts anymore! Ha ha ha -- my limbs are floating. And this icecream tastes INCREDIBLE!"Good strong medibles for the really bad days. and strong strains like Chemdawg or heavy indicas. The sats will get you to dwelling on the pain in your head and will make it worse. Take your OG Kush to an amber trich stage in flowering, aka let finish longer than usual. Be wary of some indicas though, Shishkaberry, and some others that float around aren't strong enough. One thing though, how many people do you know take prescription pain killers and worry bout taste and feeling clear headed all day long? If you want pain relief, you're gonna have to put up with some side affects like "feeling stoned", lol. I'd rather fight goin to sleep, or being drowsy during the day, and be relatively pain free, than not. My pain drives me mostly, so that's how I look at it. That's why potency is my main priority in searching for strains, not taste, yield, or looks, although if you get any of those, its a bonus. Ask round for the ChemD or Chem4, or Chem crosses and even some OG crosses. Heavy indicas, old school indicas And if you can't acquire any good medibles, make your own butter to your own liking and system. IMO
