A noob with bagseeds.

Hello all.

I recently germinated 32 seeds. So far 16 have sprouted. In jiffy pellets. I have them in a cupboard under a led light and a heat mat. 24/0. Week 1. Only giving them RO water no nutes.

I am getting ready to do a transplant 70% coco 30%soil into red cups.

No idea what genetics they are. Just seeds I collected over the years.

Going to put them outside in a greenhouse and flip them in a few weeks.

Peace

My advice: skip the jiffy pellets, and if you do use them cut the mesh off of them before transplanting! Jiffy claims they are biodegradable but I looked up some reviews and lots of people complain about the mesh blocking root growth and finding these mesh containers left in their gardens after years.

Good luck on the grow!

Use at least one clear cup inside a red cup to see root growth and also how water travels thru the soil. Those stretched ones can be planted deep for support.

Nice. I'm starting my bagseed grow too. You're (hopefully) ladies are stretching for the light. Mine were doing the same out of the jiffy dome. Last time I grew indoors I noticed I had a trial and error of light height to stop the stretching. This time around I'm growing outdoors so stretching isn't a concern as they love the sun light. As far as jiffy pellets, just make sure you open up the bottom when you put it in soil so the roots can easily grow past the netting. On my last grow I didn't do this and noticed the tap root having a hard time breaking the screen. Good luck on the grow.
