hey all, seen this forum a few nights ago, learned so much in 3 hours. so thanks!

started germinating 2 seeds @ 1am saturday morning, after reading the things on this site, i just said, 'screw it, im doin it, i gotta start off somewhere'
so this is how i started. been a smoker for nearly a year and have never grown a plant.

as a newb, all i want to experience is the sprouts shooting out from the seed. i will think of what to do after i get things straight.

enjoy this journey with me folks.

bye!

3'10" L x 1' W x 2'8" H, is this enough?

i want my first experience to be nice and swell with out gettin caught.
this means not going hard pushing 400watters in a confined space AND not spending too much as i am on a tight budget. im also not looking to veg for long and dont expect massive yields. maybe later on when i have my own place, i can do this all right.

i would like to know what kind of lighting i really need for 1 plant in the space i have to use. i would like to know whether i should stick with 1x175w/200w mh for both veg and flower OR 1x200w hps for veg and flower? i have done some research and i have been told 200w is more than enough for 1 plant, any other opinions?

this is my first time so any help would be appreciated.
put yourself in my shoes, what would you do?

thanks in advance.

they would have to be small to use mh or hps unless u using a cooltube and still would be more than the space you have.

I'd go with high wattage cfl's for this space.

200w hps? neva seen it if u mean 250w hps thats very strong light for your height space.

Oaky ima put out some measurements of top my dome:

pot is 10in
light is 7in.
space between light n plant is 7in.

space left is 8in.
this might be a lil off tho.

i think this is the 200w hps, 200 watt HID High Pressure Sodium Bulbs: 1000Bulbs.com

so would you recommend 1x175w or 1x200w cfl for veg then jump straight to a 200w mh or hps? im going for a stealth grow. if i believe the plant is growing too tall, can i always tie the top end of the plant down gently to the side as i have 3' to spare?

damn dood, you got a small set-up too.
fanks.

who me? my setup isn't small. I got 3 growrooms with side closets that really dont get put to use much.

but anyway i guess so. you got a ballast and reflector for that lights? 175 is good.

hey you have a tight spot to work with, check out my gro journal I have a link on there that is all about micro grows. lights you can use multiple cfl's to get you a good amount of light cheap. I am running right this min 2 42 watt cfl equivlant to 150 watts and a 20 w good fo75 watts. you mught want to germ more than one due to you might get a male that you can't smoke.

oh, fanks, will check your journal out right away!

i dont mind growing a male, just to know what it feels like to raise a plant from start to scratch is a pleasure in itself. ill will get a girl/feminized propper strain when i 100% know what to do. i guess im using this male as a test.

catch yas on the flipside

Hi there.
Not been on for a while.
Dont look on the dark side yet, there's every chance it could turn out female.
The more you look after it, and treat it right, the more chance it will be female.
Do lots of reading and learning, you'll be cool.
Just be carefull, Its too easy to overwater in soil, and its WAY too easy to overfeed by any method. After the second pair of real leaves the more light you can give it/them the better.
The main recipe for success is, (as with most things) learn learn, and learn some more. and your not in a bad place to start with, lots of knowledge on here.
Good luck anyway.

Every thing I know I learned from this sight and some. learing little tiny things that you wouldn't even think about. You learn as you grow. your girls become your babys. they r like your kids you know them better than they know them selves.
