A Little Help With Autos

Friends,
First grow in years, first AUTOFLOWERING plant.

Conditions: From feminized seeds, 3 gallon containers, in Miracle Grow (>I KNOW - Bought some Fox Farms and good nutes for next attempt<) week 4&1/2 - Looking great to me, short but bushy, some LST, verified females. 400 HPS, 24/0 since day 6 (per advice)

Questions:
* Should I alter the 24/0 lighting at all when she shows me signs of pre-flowering? If so, to what?
* Per the attached pic, does it appear she is preflowering?
* Do you guys see anything I am missing in this pic?

i run autos 24/0 and yes i see pistils. looks like a mild nute burn. possibly a deficiency such as calcium or mag. with autos, no need to alter the light schedule cause they don't give a fuck either way.

Ditch the MG.
Get a ph, and EC meter.

Plant looks like it has some problems, and there is no way to help you what without knowing what your PH, or Nutrient strength is.
("1/4 or 1/2 strength of such and such doesn't help at all)
Looks like she's going to start losing leaves soon if you don't correct it. Yield will be reduced DRASTICALLY.

Lot of potential still in that girl though.

She is definitely flowering, but you are having some sort of lockout happening somewhere. I suggest you flush the soil, but even doing that i am not sure if it is going to do much without having anything to correct the problem. Ride this grow out, finish up and consider this a lesson learned about using miracle grow. Next grow take what you learned and apply it with the foxfarm nuets you have and you will wow yourself, because you have done a good job to begin with just MG. And if this helps at all, whenever I do grow any autos I try to use about a quarter of what my fertilizer says to use( Only if i am going non organic)

So guys, is it the consensus out there that I should flush my soil now?
I am in pre-flower (per the pic above) and suffering nute burn or something.
Remember, these are AUTOS and unfortunately they are in Miracle Grow.
(A mistake I won't make again)
I want to give them the best chance possible to finish their flowering healthily.

Questions:
* Is there any real danger or consequences in flushing at this point in the growth cycle?

* Should I start with a small amount of bloom nutes after flushing? (if I flush)

Any help will be appreciated.

DO NOT FLUSH. flushing will cause the time release nutes to release all at once. How often do you water. from the pic it looks like you are overwatering causing excess nutes to be released. water less frequently and give a little bloom nutes.

What about using a dash of Epsom Salts, and maybe getting a bottle of Plant Magic Cal mag+ i think its called, about IDK $20

Goddamn MG has caused me so much trouble. This was a lesson well learned.
OK, since it's too late to move to better soil and since flushing it would just make it worse
I'll just ride this grow out. I've been giving them about a pint of H2O every other day because
they seem to get a little limp by then, I'll cut that back too. Thanks guys for the info.

Pots r good size soil maybe not so good u have a mag def for sure man and nut burn I grow auto on 18/6 with flower so I geta little stretch cause my mh cause super tight nodes I honestly cant see flowering happening need a side on shot that just looks like new growth man id start to lst the plant tie the highest branch lower then the rest will make other bud sites compete for main cola position this works well for autos cause u cant top em just open the plant up as much as possible spred her like a 2 dollar hooker.
Week 4 and half ur auto should have very visable bud sites if it dont fully bud soon id say u got shit genetics and its not a auto
Also 24 hours is dumb if u read up on auto 99% swear either 18/6 or 20/4 as 24 wont yield anymore will just cost u more in power plus many argue plants need to sleep and this is where u get lota growth as plants use there sugar they store during the lights on at night

Ok so I'll drop the light to 18/6 and lst her better. Would you suggest I skip all the "bloom nutes" and just water as necessary?

Not KNOWING how to work WITH the time release nutes is what caused your trouble.
Like others have said don't flush and water less.
Meaning no insult. That stuff's tricky business.
Regardless though I don't think I'd even put an auto in MG soil. It just depends on which soil type it is really.
My autos this round were nute sensitive compared to photo plants just as everyone had said they would be. Started yellowing out FAST between the first and second week of flower.
Hit em with a very small dose of N during 2 feedings on my normal schedule and they turned dark green. Right there at the critical point. Then stayed that way til they were chopped.
Personally I'll err on the side of caution in the future with em.
Everyone here has made very valid points though. Also pick up Cal Mag for sure. I've learned the hard way it's one of those things you WANT to keep around and hit em with it asap.

Do you remember which specific soil you purchased? The NKP ratings and how long the time release is "good for"?

Just the stock Miracle Grow with whatever nutes it has in it (Feeds up to 6 months).
My next run will be better because I have learned a lot reading on here.
I just hope these girls make it to the end.

I know a lot of people that grow in miracle grow. And have lush green plants... not ideal but Imo the people that say u can't do that are noobs that failed and now are running around telling everyone growing in that is a mistake. ..When the mistake was really not understanding the plant and it's needs.. that is all carry on!

Well, I'll admit to being a n00b, but somethings fuckin em' up and from all my research and comparison of pics of plants with similar issues, and the advice of so many veteran growers (although often conflicting) I have to think it is something explainable, even if it's ME. Thus, going forward I will use a reputable soil like FF, some nutrients that I can control, and with a little luck I'll do better. After all, they are going into flower now and if I can keep em alive it might not be an award winning grow, but I'll at least have some smoke and a lot more understanding of how it works till my next grow completes. Hey, I'm just an old San Francisco hippie tryin' to get by here.

agree. i don't use it myself but i've seen a lot of fine plants grown in it.

Well, they are 7 weeks old today, there's been some nice progress, even tho they are only a little over 14" tall and there seems
to be some nice flowering going on. The thing that concern me is all the crispy-dry yellow leaves - usually the older leaves,
and the overall color is dull rather than lush green. You guys see anything in these pics that could help me, especially with
my next grow?

its not the soil, nothing wrong with MG soil....your overwatering probabally like others have said.

auto's dont have a preflower they just transition on the're own. so in a sense they do but its not the same as the pre flower we know from photo plants where the plant starts showing sex when it reaches maturity even in vegatative lighting.

try less water

temps?? if they are high get em in check.

And maybe a dash of P.M. Magne-Cal+
