A little help please....

Here's the deal guys/gals. I am in need of some advice. Just bought a house and find that I have myself an extra closet in one of the bedrooms. This closet is 4ft. by 7ft. with an 8 ft. ceiling. I was thinking of splitting the closet some how so I can use a small section for vegetation and the other for growing. Would some black and white visqueen be good to do this? The closet has white walls, carpet (can remove if need be), an air vent, and I live in a sub-division. Looking to get some lighting advice, too. Trying to keep my expenses under $700 for this project, but if need be I can go over a little. Never grown before, but am very eager to grow some excellent bud for myself. Not scared to do some minor fab work if need be either. I would love to do a journal on here; from the fab work in the closet, to the first smoke.

I know you guys/gals probably get these questions pretty often, but a little expertise and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Happy toking!

get some 2by2s make a diveder about half way aroud room then useheavy plastic non seeable through and use velcrow strip to open and close plastic make shif door now you have two rooms might need some calking to seal out light between wood and drywall also double up plastic with the white on the out side and put flowering room in the back of closet due to any light sipage of entering main bedroom with light being turned on then fans and lights start growing another thing would be advice to put plastic down on carpet with white showing and taped to wall about 2 inches up incease of spills

wow! I was just in there trying to figure out a good way to split em for veg and flowering. Digging the idea of the velcro. Didn't think about that. Checked around town here for some visqueen black and white yesterday, but came up empty. It's all transparent or just black. I'll have to pick some up online I guess.

The shelves are out and the closet is empty. Noticed I have a vent going into the closet from the ceiling. Can this be used to my advantage? I have been thinking of just getting a grow tent from one of these online sites, but I kinda like making it my own. Any advice on these tents? Why/why not? I see they have complete kits online, but not so good reviews. Not much for selling my self short, so I don't wanna BS my first grow. Definitely after some MONSTER BUDS regardless of my first grow or not. That being said, I will NOT grow before I feel I KNOW what the hell I am doing. Any really good websites out there for purchasing equipment? So far I have found HTG supply and a couple others.

Forget all the construction work. Just go 12/12 from seed. You only need one ( or two in my opinion ) HPS lamps Cool Tubes preferably, a carbon filter, some ducting and an inline fan. AND, hopefully, above that closet is the attic to exhaust into. Cover the walls and floor with Mylar. You could easily do all that for less than $700 including nutes/soil/pots to get you going. There are many 12/12 from seed threads here, check it out, go PERPETUAL !!!!!

Appreciate the reply greenlikemoney. I was just uploading a pic to an old thread I started when I first joined the forum. Thought it'd be cool to share the fruits (or in this case flower) of the research I did. My veg and a flower areas are dialed in at this time. I ran with DWC and SCOG and didn't look back! First harvest should be just in time for Christmas. Check out my grow if ya want. Lots of pics of my first/current grow.
