Heat stress most def, just need to have better exhaust for moving the air out the area.
CFL's too close, definitely not !
They have to be that close due to weaker lumen output, but the plus is the less heat to the touch, so put them back where they were.
Their growth has been stunted by the ambient air temps being too high.
Not enough transpiration in the leaves, so the stomata are basically being choked out.
At 5 weeks veg, those plants should be no less than 12 inches tall, in any hydro set up that's fairly dialed in environmentally.

It's not too late though.
Drop all pertinent info about your set up.
Lights, watts, qauntity, fans used, intake (passive or not) and exhaust, rez temps, etc..
Lots of us on here willing to help.
Good vibes to you and your grow.

p.s. What kind of medium is that ? Curious.

I have 6 100w CFL's and 1 14w 18" flourescent light that is offering the natural light (I figured it wouldnt hurt cause I had it in the closet already just put a new bulb in it) I am using a small space heater that has a thermostat and regulates to 80 degrees but only really runs when the lights are off because the lights give off enough heat to keep it at or above 80 degrees when the lioghts are off it gets very cold because the closet is downstairs and there is no heat besides the space heater, my reservoir is in the grow box and stays about 70 degrees roughly I just checked and it was about 68 in the early morning with no lights on I have a small desk type fan bolted to the inside of the closet wall for circulation but do not have any type of exhaust besides just leaving the closet door open which I can do but I am affraid it will make the rez water colder. In the past few days she has grown substantially and I am certain that I am getting better at this but slowly the first 2 1/2 weeks was very slow but now the root system is looking outstanding with more than 30 roots poking through the material. the material I am using is Sure To Growits like mattress foam almost. the reason why my grow is so slow I figured out was because I was not using PH water I was just using RO water that was never adjusted, I dont know why but I thought RO would have a PH about 5.5 already so I didnt worry about it. Now I adjust daily if needed.

Seems like you are on the right track just keep that R/O water PH and look into Cal/Mag to add to your reservoir because R/O water filters out calcium magnesium. Just take a chill pill and be patient. Thats the key " patience"

oh forgot I am using Technoflora recipe for success nutes next grow I will branch out and use better stuff but i wanted to use something simple for my first grow

My baby is doing way better than it was I moved my space heater out of the grow box and just left in my closet area to keep the whole closet at 80 degrees and I am leaving the door open on my grow box, it has been bothering me that it hasnt been getting stinky yet, when I went in this morning I finally smelled the lovely skunk. I am gonna change the water today and go 100% nutes and hopefully smokin in no time I will start growing the next plant in a week or so and now I know what to do right. Thanks guys any more advice is greatly appreciated

doing a lot better but am wondering if I should trim of the damaged leaves so the younger leaves can get full light or just leave it alone
