A little germination trick

I always see people say about putting the seeds between 2 paper towels with water then putting in the pot, this is not the most effective way, my way i put the seed straight in the pot and 5 days later they are 3 inches tall its the most effective way ive seen so far and puts aside the chance of transplanting stress.

Try this and you wont be dissapointed:

-Get a 5L pot and fill it with soil about 3/5 of the way so you have a bout 2-3 inches from the top of the pot left to work with.

-Make the soil wet and move it around, not to much, just so you can feel that the hole soil is moisty.

-Tap it all down and make its smooth, then get the seeds and put them in facing upwards (This will stop the seed from popping out with seeds shell still on top of it and prevent a possible burn when taking shell off) about half to and inch then cover it up just so you cant see it, make sure no light can get to the seed or it wont germinate good, burn or take to long.

-now get cling film (a very thin sheet of plastic) and wrap it over the top then seal it with seletape around the base to make sure its air tight and put straight under lights.

-Make sure you wait till the plant has opened his leafes before taking off the plastic, to see so you might have to tap it at the SIDE because of the codensation wont be able to see through (If you tap in the middle you might just let a drop of water fall onto the plant and burn it)

And there you go, all good to go, i have done this several times and ALWAYS have all seeds germinated and grown good bcs of no stress.

LOL ?!?! Why not just throw them in a glass of water for a day or 2 ?!?!
Because its easier and better in 2 ways this way:

1. You dont get transplanting stress + having to do the transplanting (becuase they are obviously already in they're pot)
2. They feed on nutes that are in the soil as soon as they are out of the shell and the plastic will act ass a 95-100% humidity greenhouse for they're first day wich is what they need.

just try before critising, ive experimented with it and got a plant 3 inches bigger like this insted of doing it with tissues, then in pot, in just a week.

You obviously know best !!!
Its just i put them in a glass of PH'd water inside a heated propogator , then the next day or two when the tap root has emerged i put them in my medium, 3 days max and they are showing first true leaves.
Thats quick and easy enough for me tanks !kiss-ass

I love this part! LOL :hump:

Good info. I'll try it next time. I always have a couple seeds that don't germinate in the paper towel.

Don't be so hard on yourself---SUPER SILVER HAZE is a very tricky plant/cloning/growing/germing.

Very nice post brother----good to hear your beans are jumping:mrgreen:----I use a method similar----I soak the beans in water for 24 hours(they have not cracked at this time----I then move them into clear 16 ounce cups---I put the clear cups in the colored one so no light can hit the lower part of soil---I place the seed on 1/8" deep and lightly cover with soil---I put all the cups in a germ tray with a mondo humidity tent---I then set my heat mat to 82 deg and set the tray of #20-----16ounce cups on the heat mat and wait---the seeds pop in 3 to 5 days.

What ever works do it!! I think the thing we all forget here is that cannabis has been here longer than any of us,and through the natural course of nature it handles itself. My biggest problem growing is that I am an overanalyzer. But growing will teach you to be patient once you have killed enough plants!!!!!

I think someone could argue that the lack of nutrients in the paper towel may inspire the soon-to-be plant to extend its roots further. Also, its easy to check on them with the paper towel method - thats why I like it.

More often than not I put em in soil and wait cause its easier and safer

I just started (or attempted to start) 25 seedlings. I put em in a cup of water for 24 hours, then on paper towels. I started 5 each of Cinderella 99, Super Silver Haze, Hindu Kush, Pineapple Punch, and a mystery strain that I can't remember what the hell it is,:bigjoint: but it must have been good because I kept it!!!

20 seeds have since germinated, been placed in Rockwool, and are looking very good..they'll be under flouro lighting later tonight. All 5 Cinderella 99 seeds have failed to germinate going into day 5 on the paper towels.

Is C99 hard to germ? Did I screw something up? Do I just need more patience? The other 15 seeds came up no problemo...so do I just start 5 more and hope for the best? Maybe I need a heating pad/starting tent like you guys refer to.

Thanks!!!
