A little dirt. A little passive hydro. A whole lotta dope growing :)

So I'm in a weird place man. I'm wanting to convert the whole garden to soil, but it's been about 10 years since I've grown in it and I'm sure I'm a little rusty. What's a grower to do? Take baby steps. I've got a really nice cut of Godfather OG that was gifted to me by my neighbor. She was in bad shape 2 weeks ago. Chlorosis of the leaves and she just didn't look healthy. Got her transplanted into some good potter's gold soil mixed with ocean forest. About a week ago she was telling me she was ready for her first feeding, so I watered in 700PPM with calcium and magnesium. The next day she perked up like every leaf had a boner bursting with healthy green foliage allover. I'm watering all of my soil plants the same way I did 10 years ago on a water, water, feed, water, water, feed regimen. Discontinue all fertilizer 7 days prior to harvest and provide plain water only. Best dope I ever smoked before I switched to hydro. I am using the same fertilizer I used 10 years ago. Flora series micro, grow, and bloom with floralicous plus. Nothing fancy. No PK boosters. No voodoo juices. No bullshit. PH adjust to 6.3 on feed days. 6 stage reverse osmosis water filtration with de ionization supplies water to 2 primary reservoirs automatically on a float valve for both the hydro and soil plants.

The soil seedling lineup:
Bruce Banger feminized
Jack Herer feminized
God Bud regular
Big Buddha Cheese feminized

The water to waste hydro clone lineup:
Blue Dream
Maui Waui
Critical Mass
Jager

The Hydro ladies will be receiving Jack's 5-12-26 at the strength recommended by J.R. Peters:
3.6g 5-12-26
1.1g Epsom salt
2.4g Calcium nitrate

All added in that order thoroughly mixing between addition of elements. PH adjusted to 5.8. 1.8EC in flower 1.3 EC in veg. Easy peezy lemon squeezy :)
I've been growing in water to waste 5 gallon hempy buckets with #4 chunky perlite for about 2 years now using maxi bloom as my fertilizer. The flowers do not taste as good as the jack's grown flowers. Almost like there's an element flavor from over fertilization. I believe it to be phosphorous. Too much P applied in flower to induce bulking is known to cause significant issues with flavor and burn quality. I'm 3 weeks deep into my flower cycle and about 4 or 5 days ago I switched it over to Jack's 5-12-26 transitioning away from maxi bloom.

I'm really looking forward to proving my hypothesis that Jack's produces better tasting flowers that also exhibit better burn qualities. Maxi is not getting the job done in the flavor and burn quality department. And if I had never grown with jack's or soil I'd never know a difference. But oh my, there is a substantial difference :)

My tomatoes definitely need some fertilizer. Dam pot is taking forever to dry out and I don't wanna drown the roots. Hopefully tomorrow she'll be ready for a drinking. Planning to transplant her outside when the weather warms a bit more.

12'x16' Flower room. This is an old photo from about 4 weeks ago while the girls were still vegging.

Strains:
Moonshine haze #1 x Ghost train haze #1:
Not a favorite. Cycling it out after this round. Poor producer. Unimpressive strain. This was supposed to be a replacement for gg#4 and it failed. Not a horrible strain, but definitely nothing magical here combined with poor yield = axe.
Maui waui:
Heavy producer. Highly requested. Gorgeous flower structure with a unique aroma.
Blue dream:
First cycle with this one, and thus far she appears to be an extremely heavy producer with an intense skunk and blueberry aroma
Jager:
2nd cycle with this one. Extremely heavy producer. Gorgeous flower structure. Top quality flowers from the tops to the bottom stalks. Impressive genetics.

I'll snap some updated pictures tonight.
