a little definition on auto-flower please...

So if I buy auto-flower seeds, say 14 - 16 week, does that mean that roughly within that time range from when it sprouts, it will be ready for harvest? And, if I'm understanding correctly you veg for again, roughly 6 - 8 weeks - by which time it should have shown sex. And at this point if growing indoors you put it on a 12/12 lighting pattern, or if it is outside, just let go until it's done. (which is 14-16 weeks from when it broke ground?)

Is this correct? -

I'm a little buzzed this morning... :eyesmoke:

You are high as fuck, man. Auto flower just means it flowers by itself, no need to switch to 12/12. 14-16 weeks means it will be ready for harvest by then. No its not possible to veg again after harvest! Most auto's start flowering about 4 weeks old.

most autos don't require 14-16 weeks. most of mine are ready for harvest in 12 weeks or less from germination.

I've grown only one auto, a freebie auto blue from seedsman. It starded flowering in about 3-4 weeks, was done in 8-9 weeks. I grew on 12/12 with regulars in my tent. Even on 12/12 it yielded almost 1.25 oz , it was freaking great and the fact it finished a month before my others I was really impressed.

I'm not really that high...

I didn't mean veg again, I meant you veg for about 6-8 weeks of the total time. Although I can see how I wrote it confusing. Bottom line though, you plant them and forget them for about the 14-16 weeks. and regarding the 12/12, that's just what I've read elsewhere on here.

autoflowers do everything for you. all you have to do is germinate the seeds, then plant them. They usually veg for 2 or 3 weeks from seed. THen flower for the remaining time. total time is what it says on the seed. you might want to add 2 weeks to the schedule due to the conditions of your plant/grow room/set up.

Every (auto) I havd ever grew out has always started flowering when "she" wanted to. Not when I wanted her to. ;)
I know you don't have to do 12/12 on them, but when I 1st start to see pre flowers, I will go ahead & stick her in 12/12 anyways, and honestly to me it seems like she/they flower quicker vs staying under 24/24. Once the buds get going good, I will just leave her under 24/24 till she is finshed. Never had any problems doing this. For the most part I got a good amount of smoke off the strains(auto's) I did grow out. Last 1 I did was a Nothern Lights(auto) & Blue Mystic(auto). I was thinking about starting another here soon, but kinda have my hands full with the 30 some strains I have going now! Lol
