Who keeps deleting my posts?

This place used to be fun, there was banter to be had :(
I did that. The rewrite of quoted material was offensive imo. I've undeleted to illustrate my point. If you think I overreacted, please say so and argue the point. cn

a machinist is not a welder . . . . welding is art . . . machinist is monkey work. . . . imho . .and ya welding skills are in high demand at least ones that can weld and not steal from homeless people at same time
Stealing from homeless people doesn't sound like a wise career path.

companies are holding back their own position from being filled. Machining in America isn't what it used to be. Companies complain no one will fill their spots and then export metals to get machined. maybe if they provided on job training and gave a decent dollar, they wouldn't have empty spots in their company.
Many machine shop operators complain about the lack of experienced machinists, but when one applies, they want to pay ridiculously low wages. When they are willing to pay for experience, it can still be had. The crop of trade school graduates being produced are mostly incapable of doing anything other than CNC operation. Some can program, but don't know what can and can not be done. Their manual machining skills are lacking. "On the job training" is wasteful spending, as employees gain skill, they leave for other companies that can pay more because they don't do "on the job training".

Still good shops out there.
And my shop does on the job training, but you need a work history and some experience. We dont want people that dont show up

I hear you. I think there's plenty of work that doesn't require 10 years of experience. There's some work that is too critical to be entrusted to a trainee, tho. Sadly, there are many that just don't have the work ethic that employers want.

the power never stays witht the people. as soon as they receive they are placated, which in turn leads to dismissal.
