We need government regulations.
like we need cancer...
i dont need anyone, let alone a faceless fiction claiming to have power over me. we do NOT need government for anything.
while i agree that regulation/penalty/violence/coercion are probably the easiest and fastest way to address a problem, not a single issue we face as a nation necessitates the implementation of government or government regulation.

I mostly agree with you, however the government is needed to enforce contracts, provide for the defense of the nation and protect the individual rights of the citizen.

governments arent needed. courts, maybe; run by fully accountable people and not some faceless entity. a militia may be required, however government is not needed for that either. And how to address 'rights' of a 'citizen'... okay so a citizen by definition (google search) is a legally recognized subject or national of a state or commonwealth, either native or naturalized. if you are subject to something then it has power over you. if a nation or state or government has power over you then that entity has the ability to make you do whatever it wants and you only have the 'rights' that are allowed by whatever entity you are subject to. so if your govt decides that you cant drive without a seatbelt or smoke a j then you cant and there is nothing you can do about it. governments are evil by nature. they exist as a form of control and nothing else

Clean water and clean power acts, working on alternate sources of energy, opposing projects like the keystone pipeline, supporting liberal institutions like the Sierra Club.

You know, real world solutions that actually work.

What does "working on alternate power sources" mean ? How do you propose doing this?

Pffft, the government has already decreed smoking a J is illegal, I still do it, every day.

Laws don't stop bad behavior.

I also drive w/o my seatbelt all the time, sometimes i take it off while next to the police car.

What is wrong with the Keystone Pipeline?

If you're worried about the increased carbon that would come from refining and using the byproducts of that Canadian oil and gas, building that pipeline is the least carbon producing way.

That oil will be used.

Either it is shipped to China, or trucked to American refineries, or put it in a pipe.

Why do you so vehemently oppose the pipeline?

MWG opposes the pipeline because he is a knee jerk luddite. The Dems used the pipeline for political purposes to keep their poor to themselves.

i had no idea that nebraska ranchers who rely on the ogallala aquifer were "the Dems", because they are the ones most opposed to the pipeline of anyone.
