A few questions...

After a very long time researching and planning, I will finally be starting my grow within the next couple of weeks. I still have a few specific questions that I was hoping some people out there might be willing to answer.

I am starting from seed, and will have a small section with CFL's that will be later used for clones. I have seen how to germinate seeds, and planting them in small rockwool cubes won't be an issue. But it isn't clear on how to take care of them at that point until the point you transplant them into larger rockwool cubes in the main section.

How do I care for the youngsters after germination until transplantation in a rockwool environment?
Do I need any sort of nutrients?
How is the watering done?
Humidity dome?
At what point can I transplant them into the main section with the HID lights?

When it comes to the rockwool in the tray, is it just a block sitting in a tray? Or is there a layer of something on the bottom that it should sit on?
Do I put anything in the empty space between the cubes?
What size rockwool cubes would a scrog grow in a cabinet require per plant?
What is the average screen space required per plant for a cabinet scrog grow? I have read 1 plant per square foot but I am just not sure.

I have seen posts saying to flower when the plant just starts to grow above the screen, and I have seen posts saying to fill the screen 40-60% before flowering. Sure it is strain specific I am sure but what is the more correct number?

What is the rule of thumb when calculating the cfm required to keep a cabinet cool, in the event there is a 400whps with a cooltube?

Holy shit I guess I had a lot of questions. I dont think all can be answered but if any can be I would appreciate it. Thanks.

All of your questions have a shit load of possible answers. Tell us about your setup, hydro VS soil, MH/HPS or florecents, the size of your area......

Sorry I thought I included enough detail. I will skip the fluff and try to keep it simple.

I have a clone area with CFL's, and a grow area with 400WHPS, Its about 4ft x 2ft. Scrog. I am not growing just yet.

I want to know about the care of the plants from sprout until transplant into the main grow area. Are they just given water? Or other nutrients? How long should I keep it in clone area before moving to main table?

With rockwool in an ebb and flow table, I think I have found the answer to the empty space with hydroton. I assume the rockwool should sit on a layer of it as well? Or can it sit straight on the bottom of the tray?

Is 6x6 rockwool cube sufficient for a plant that will be grown SCROG in a cabinet with 400w HPS?

How much screen space should I use per plant? I know lots of variables for this one but if there is a general idea?

At what point in the scrog grow is it time to flower? WHen it starts to get to the screen or when the screen is halfway filled?

it was a good post...just requires long answers...
I have a clone area with CFL's, and a grow area with 400WHPS, Its about 4ft x 2ft. Scrog.the whole area or just the clones and mothers/vegging area?
I am not growing just yet. no time like the present:mrgreen:

I want to know about the care of the plants from sprout until transplant into the main grow area. dang that's potentially a lot of info...but we'll try to oversimplify

Are they just given water? while they are sprouting just ph'd water to 5.8 with a lil bit of h2o2 as long as your not running organic.:spew:
Or other nutrients? no nutrients for clones...all you need is h2o2,regular fuckin water, and ph down.
How long should I keep it in clone area before moving to main table? that depends on lots and lots but you could be doing s.o.g. so about 2 weeks. but all you need is for them to have a good spray of roots coming out the bottom of the rw cube

With rockwool in an ebb and flow table, I think I have found the answer to the empty space with hydroton. sounds good:mrgreen:

I assume the rockwool should sit on a layer of it as well? correct!:hump:
Or can it sit straight on the bottom of the tray? absolutely not ....way too wet for rw

Is 6x6 rockwool cube sufficient for a plant that will be grown SCROG in a cabinet with 400w HPS? yes:mrgreen:

How much screen space should I use per plant? I know lots of variables for this one but if there is a general idea?
cant help there i dont screw with screens

At what point in the scrog grow is it time to flower? flower like you would normally...the screen is just for yield

WHen it starts to get to the screen or when the screen is halfway filled?
?

good luck

Just water or nutrients depends on how long you let your clones sit in that area before you move to the main. If you move them when they root, you would just use water. If you leave them in there longer than you will want to feed nutes.
How long you want to leave them under your cfls is up to your needs... Are you going to have clones growing while you have other plants flowering?
Where your rockwool cube sits in your net pot doesn't matter. You can get away without even using rockwool.
6x6 is fine in an ebb & flow system... You can go without the rockwool, or a much smaller cube.
Screen space is all for you to figure out for your situation.
I don't use scog, but I would guess that you would flower before it hit your screen then while flowering it will grow into and though the screen.
