A few questions

1st time grower and I have a few questions.
These 8 "ladies" are vanilla kush and purple kush, in gravel, ebb and flow under 600 watts.
They are just over 2 months in veg, and I am in the process of flipping them.
I just swapped in the HPS light last night and am reducing daylight. I still need to take some clones so have not just done a straight light flip.

I started training them but a medical issue made it impossible for me to give them the care required. It was all I could do to keep the res full.
So they kinda got away.

1st ? Has anyone ever had an airstone clog up? We have a redcross homecare worker comes in every day and the air pump noise from upstairs is quite noticeable so I had taken to turning it off when she would be here and lighting it off again a couple of hours before feeding time.
Tonight I noticed that it was BARELY working. I tried removing it and blowing through it,not a hope It is a round one with the stone part about the size of a cd.
Is there anyway to clean this out like CLR or something?

2Nd?
I am somewhat concerned about the strength of some of the stalks and their ability to support a bud. The nodes are quite far apart and I think with the lack of care there are some awfully thin branches that seem to have 1 or 2 good bud sites right at the top.
Is there an easy way to support these once they begin to flower. Will the branches "bulk"up once I flip the lights and change nutes?
I was trying to post a couple of lousy pics but this laptop won't read the SD card :?
I will try and add them in tomorrow.
Yes I took the towel off the light after the photo shoot.
Thanks for any help
Pic 2 and 4 are the same flower site. I was just trying to show the thin stalk.

let your airstone bubble in vinagar for a few minutes....you'll see flow increase. IF need be stake and tie the stalks. They look good for a noob! Good job so far. Get your clones and flip em. Peace

Simce you will get the stretch when you flip to flower you could buy some tomato trellis netting. it s cheap and you can just tape, nail, tack it about 3 inches above your canopy before you switch to flower. Then as your plant stretches you can weave branchesand get one or two bud nodes coming up through each square. This will hold the branches up and also is a slight form of SCROG

Thanks for the tips. One other thing. My natural gas furnace vents out the wall and is quite accessible. I was wondering if I could use it's exhaust to capture CO2.
I was thinking I could just put a plastic garbage bag on there and blow it up like a balloon. Tie it off, take it up to the tent and give it a little "burp" from the top of the door then zip up. Thoughts?

Your furnace exhaust is probably more carbon monoxide than dioxide. Carbon monoxide will kill you quick. Don't even think about doing what you said.
